The cost of the OZ tent with what I already got into it is nothing. I already have the Globetrotter, thats my trailer in the pic. . Plus, this would give me a tent to take on trips I wouldn't take the trailer on. I don't own another tent.
Just trying to see how to expand the setup I have to...
adding that is about $1000, the trailer is much more.
It would allow me to take more people comfortably. Just brainstorming man lets play with it a bit before we shoot it down.
Like this?
This would give you a tent room with two cots, a middle room then the changing room for the RTT and then the RTT Mattress level
All with a side door
Would need to make some measurements and come up with a rainfly
HMMMMMMMmmmmmm
Thats correct. I can remove the ladder, but then I will hear "Dad, I have to go to the bathroom from a 22 year old :D
Actually, with the globetrotter, the entire changing room is available to stand in and ther is plenty of room. The thermarest and sleeping bag do fit under the ladder. I...
Thats not it. We did that on the Rubicon in a small RTT (Oasis II)
I could have done that on this trip, but in a few weeks I will have both 19 and 22 year old daughters to go camping with and three will not fit up there and wanted to come up with a system that 3 could use this, tight but...
Do you use a low to the ground cot? Got a recommendation?
I have the Globetrotter which is mounted on a 7" rack above the trailer. This is key to the ladder position because it is a different RTT then some run.
It essentially starts at the lip of the RTT directly above the storage box and...
Spent the week in Moab. I thought it would be a bit cramped with my 22 year old daughter and I both in the bed, so I bought one of the best thermarest pads that was suppose to expand to 3.5", it did not and slept on the ground. It was no where as comfortable as the RTT mattress. I would have...
Had the same problem on my 97 and posted this thread,

I spliced in where they told me
What I was wondering is if we covered the airgap between the trailer and the top of the trailer, it should cut down the drag.
A simple way is to take a cover like a roof top tent cover that has longer sides that goes from the top of the tent down to the body of the trailer. If you did...
I use to have a much heavier Jayco Baja that towing to Moab would give me about 11mpg. Towing the AT Horizoin with the 7" rack for the globetrotter RTT, gave me about 6-7mpg. I made this trip (denver to Moab) twice and put a lower hitch on the front to angle the RTT surface down hoping to have...
I know, it's going to suck.
I noticed pulling my AT Horizon from Denver to Moab twice over the last two months I am getting extremely bad gas mileage, like 6-7 mpg.
I use to get about 11mpg when hauling a much heavier Jayco Baja.
My guess its the air gap between the top of the trailer and the...
