Just bought two of these on sale for 30% off. Lots of great reviews. I'll try them out and post up what I think. Just wanted to let folks know they are on sale right now for $104
Just seemed to me from the reviews and the picturs in nullifiers review showing cots that the RV4 would be fine with plenty of room. The RV3 would be wide enough but the cots would rub against the front and back of the tent, still likely would work. Not sure that helps you., but with two on...
Dang, during the sale they gave me a few more bucks off for getting the side panels, front panel and fly as well.
Hello, my name is Ken and I buy too much expedition gear :D
appreciate every ones input. I did already order the oztent since they were on sale through today, $100 off. I will have to see if it meets my needs and then move on from there.
huskyfargo - can you tell me why you went from the Oztent to the RTT and then to another ground tent after already...
It's not which tent. I am real anal about research and have been reviewing different setups since last May. I have decided on the Oztent. I have looked at the others and had an overland and eziawn before My review of the Oztents showed it (joint failure) was more prevelant with the RV2's, but...
Thanks for the comments Jeffry. I saw your comments in another thread and almost went with either the Jet tent or the turbo tent. The side panel comment is very similar to my Kimberley Kamper. I can be set up for basic sleeping in 3 minutes. It takes 15 minutes to get the canopy on and much...
Not really connect. The RV4 is the same width as the end of the canopy next to the door of the Kamper. I would just set it up right there filling that gap with the entrance slightly under the overhang were this pole is in the middle or around the front depending on what works best
I have the Kimberley Kamper which sleeps two comfortably. You could sleep 3-4 putting two on the floor, but that gets tight with a lot of people in a tight space.
For more rugged expedition camping I have an ARB Simpson RTT
Since my daughter has a steady BF of two years, thinking of getting...
Tom,
Your price is a fair price. It didn't seem great at first, but after I researched the extras I saw it was. I didn't buy that RV4 as of yet and I may change my mind on an RV2 being too small.
Maybe this will help you, had it been an RV4 I would have bought it quickly. Its hard to figure...
Im not selling but I have a similar trailer to what Jon posted and put in a fridge and a propane heater. You could easily make those same mods to Jon's trailer.
You can see how I modified it starting in the following thread...
Use to ( and still in basement) have a two person Dome tent
Then for the Rubicon, I bought the Oasis II which is light and easy to use. You can take it off the truck when you get to someplace you plan to be more than a few days. The bottom is nice like a trampoline so your not on the ground...
My Kimberley Kamper is built very similar to this and is about 2300-2400 pounds dry. Not saying that's what Jon's weighs, but based on similar construction and look that would be a good ballpark. Course Kimberly has worked the last few years on reducing weight and the new ones are about 2100...
