Thanks! I tried to build it too. Ended up getting a scratch and dent model for a bit more than I could have built it for. I found out it has the wrong hardware. The bolts stick out of the bottom instead of going up into the rack. I'll need to correct that with my new set up.
Yeah there is a...
I'm waiting until I fix a few things. I'm installing the geo correction brackets, and my winch this weekend then getting it aligned. I may install a new set of airbags too because I'm installing a rear drawer. I'll report back after I doc 1500 miles and 200 off road miles with the full set up...
I like to camp in a new place each night. We realized that we were spending more time packing and unpacking than I would like. So most of these additions are intended to streamline that process. Keeping all the kitchen and food stuff in a drawer should save time, pulling out the food bin and...
I may have a long trip coming up next weekend. I have a lot to get done on the Jeep this weekend in preparation for a long trip next weekend.
A pile of parts are accumulating in my garage. I need to try to get them installed this weekend:
ARB front diff cover
Rockhard winch mount for stock...
I finally got the AEV 2.5 XT lift in. Got a great deal on a 2000-mile-old kit w/ geo brackets from Andy at The Adventure Portal.
We promptly took it on a fall color scouting trip up to Laurel Lake near Mammoth, CA and Coyota Flats near Bishop. Great colors up there and interesting weather.
We...
Are the shackle mounts tied directly into the frame or does this use a bull bar mounting bracket like other ARB bumpers? I assume that they're strong enough if ARB put them there. I know their normal bull bars don't have shackle mounts for that reason.
My other idea, has anyone tried mounting...
Not mine, but my ex-boss's. I've driven the thing and seen if every day for a year. It's a great old truck. He's moving to NYC and can only bring one Land Rover. He's looking for a good owner. This is definitely not a show truck. More of a rad daily driver. All original as far as I can tell...
Installing the AEV geometry correction brackets on mine worries major pain getting all three control arm holes to line up. I ended up having to drill the skid plate whole much larger
So far so good. The road noise from rotating the tires is annoying. I hope it goes away soon. Actually I hope I get some new tires soon [emoji16]
I parked next to a stock Rubicon at work yesterday. I measured and realized that mine is only 1.5" taller up front and 1" taller in the rear despite...
Is that panel a stock size or did you cut it? Do you have a link to it somewhere?
On other vehicles I've just used the rain guards on the windows while sleeping but it doesn't help with bugs.
While doing a 5 wheel rotation this weekend, I installed my 1.5" Spidertrax Wheel Adapters. So everything should be 35" tire ready. But I'll still probably do the real deal AEV 3.5" lift first.
I don't know if it's because of the tire rotation or the spacers, but the tire noise is way louder...
Good news: it was indeed a faulty Truck Lite headlight. The new one is much brighter and matches the color and output of the DS headlight. I tried to align them but cranked them up a little too high. But overall, I'm much happier with the light output.
If you look at the wall, there's a black...
