Welcome to Bellingham. There are a few Expo types around town and lots of them in Western Washington. Many of them are also on NWOS: http://www.nwoverland.org/
If you are in B'ham and need anything for fixing up your camper, stop by Hardware Sales and say hi. I work there.
Sounds like you're...
Red dust trip
Took a trip to central Oregon and northeast California recently. Toured the old right of way of the McCloud River Railroad and the photo here was taken at the former location of the siding of Hambone, CA. I'm off to wash the van now... Really dusty inside and out from the volcanic...
There is a lot to do in that general area. Are you somewhat local or coming from out of state? The drive over Highway 20 has great scenery near the top of the pass. Harts Pass is close and is the highest place you can drive in WA state. Winthrop is a cool little place that is a western themed...
Thanks. That camp spot is here:

Pretty easy, mostly level road along the ridge out there too.

I think it looks great in solid white! I have had several white rigs and never got tired of it in the long run. But, if you want to add a little something to break up the white box look, consider a stripe with thinner pinstripes along the edges. I think this looks better than just a solid...
Ford E450 diesel cutaway at auction
http://thebellinghamauction.com/photoalbum/2012auctions/8aug12album/aug12photoalbum02.html
I just saw this on the local auction lot today. Sorry for the short notice as the monthly auction is tomorrow. I am not affiliated with the auction in any way. Just...
Sdski,
Yeah, I've been in WA 16 years and have never felt like I've even come to seeing all of it yet. Great place it is. Hope to see you on the trail someday.

Since I check this 4wd van thread first when I hit Expo, I thought I'd point out my thread over on the Completed Adventures and Events forum for other 4wd van fans:

Spent three days last weekend with T.Low wandering around the Winthrop, Twisp, and Banks Lake areas in Central Washington. Great to get away and see some new ground. Didn't make it over the pass on NF-4330 to Lake Chelan due to snow, but had plenty of other roads to explore to keep busy and...
Got out last weekend and met up with T.Low for a couple of days of wandering around, starting near the Winthrop, WA area. Found this camp spot on an old logging road. The red sunset made me think we might have a nice sunrise, but rain in came during the night and we woke up to low clouds and...
I have not stopped to look at it, but from the photos it appears they van was ordered from SMB with the SMB 4x4 conversion and a simple interior with a big bed. The design details of the interior conversion makes me think it was built by SMB but I have no proof. I know SMB will build custom...
"T.Low: That's exactly what I've been talking about."
Yeah, I agree. As much as I think your Astro is awesome, with your family getting bigger (again), this really would make more sense in the long run. It's likely to have twice the cubic room inside as a stock Astro body and with stove...
"So it isn't as charming like a VW, function trumps form in my book..."
Me too. I do think VW camper vans are really cool, but a Ford van with U Joint 4x4 conversion is a reasonably priced alternative to a Syncro, and is easy to service and get parts for. They can start as old work vans and be...
Cool. There used to be a U.S. Gypsum narrow gauge mining railroad from Plaster City northwest to this mine:
