"Bruce" the 2014 Jeep JKUR Build Thread

I might be the idiot here. A rock did push my Evo slid into the crossover exhaust pipe in January. And I don't recall when the grind started. That could be the cause. I'm going to drop the skid and see if the sensation goes away and bend it back. I get the impression that the dealership...

A different dealer supposedly took a look at the grinding. They said it's nothing with the transmission. Started blaming skid plates or heat shields. Hopefully that's true and they don't charge me to have looked at it. I know it's not the lift or heat shields because it's been doing it for...

    2015 JK Subwoofer Location

Does anyone know if the 2015 sub will fit in the cubby of a pre-2015? I'm considering doing this to fit a larger drawer where the 2014 subwoofer is. I'd like to keep a subwoofer since that's how the system is designed. I don't think having a mat or drawer on top of a subwoofer would change the...

Kids Bikes - Crap vs Quality

On a 16 inch wheeled bike, I do not think the price difference is going to be worth it. A five-year-old is probably not going to be able to ride it hard enough before he outgrows it. When you buy him a 20 inch bike, you could look at building it your self. Even giant and Frech still use bottom...

Update: They're standing behind their product a little too much. Truck Lite must think it's the light itself. They're sending me a new one. I just asked if it might be the anti flicker module. So we'll see what they say. I didn't really need brighter lights for day to day driving since I live...

I suspect the connection is fine. Yeah I'm worried enough that the dual battery system would totally void the electrical system warranty. The terrible dealer I went to on Tuesday started to try to use the spacer lift and airlift airbag springs as an excuse for why the couldn't find the source of...

yeah i'm not cutting OEM harnesses. I'd use an aftermarket relay harness before I did that. I think it's a defective anti flicker module.

The Big O JKUR build thread

How was I not subscribed to this thread? So many good pictures. Post back your results. I just waited 7k between changes of non synthetic, which made me a bit nervous. Some data to support that interval would be great.

Thanks for the idea! Yeah I think I need to aim them up. As you can see in the picture, one is just dimmer. I'll check the harnesses if I ever get a second. Since I did it first, I might not have secured the PS anti-flicker module as well as the DS one. That's what I suspected too. We'll see...

The perfect brand doesn't exist. So until someone makes a brand that's equal parts off road oriented fun, premium customer service, and high attention to detail and reliability, we'll all just have to pick which quality is most important.

Nice looking Jeep. That's the color I originally wanted but my wife vetoed. I wasn't a fan of the old school lens and I wanted something that used both the high and low beams at once when the highs are on. The JW speaker headlights seem the best but I hate the look and price. No offense to...

Either I'm too anal for Jeep life or am just having bad luck. I'd suspected that one headlight was dimmer than the other. Leaving work late tonight confirmed it. Anyone else had this issue? I contacted Truck Lite about it tonight.

What's the shudder in reverse? It feels like the a grind from the front diff when reversing and turning the wheel to the right (backing into a parallel parking spot).

They could t relocate the squeak and started throwing out shut about my lift. I have a spacer lift and airbags. And they were supposed to be looking for a gear grind in reverse, not a squeak. It's been a difficult day as far as dealing with service people. We had an electrician over today also...

The Jeep's been at the dealer for 19hrs for an oil change and to track down this grinding noise/feeling from the front end when reversing and turning, like when parallel parking... I thought Jeep might have stepped up their service now that they sell $80k SUVs. But it seems as if our service...

Thanks. He's getting there. At this rate he'll be the most built jeep on stock sized tires. These home improvements and wife mandated vacations are eating up all his lift and tire funds. The rubicon rails are s little to high to be an ergonomic step anyway. But you might be able to drill some...

Carrying a 5lb Propane Tank in a JKUR

It's not a bomb. Read up on propane tanks. If it had a puncture and there was a fire it would turn into a flame thrower. But the only way to blow it up would be to throw a full tank into a very hot fire. Any sort of puncture situation it just spews out. It's probably safer than your gas tank...

I used to to use and hit my sliders all the time in my 100. But that's was because its rocket panel was very low and the sliders hung below that. If they weren't there I wouldn't have hit them. That's why I wanted ones that wouldn't eliminate the JKURs superior rocker clearance. And I didn't...
