My suggestion is this:
Create a front platform on the bed next to the cab. Make it 14-16" wide. Place a regular shell behind that.
Use the shelf behind the cab for storage, may be a small tool chest, fuel, water etc.
When you deflate your tires for off-road they obviously bulge out at the bottom increasing the foot print. Most people don't realize that the tire will also bulge out at the top as well, not near as much as the bottom, but some.
Keep an eye on the clearance when you deflate. If you see rubber...
Electric brakes are an enormous advantage when backing down a hill off road. The electric brakes work in reverse as well as forward. They can be adjusted up to work with more force, they can work in conjunction with the vehicle brakes, or operated separately with hand controls.

0.75" is a very minimum, we like to see 1" at least.
The independent trailing arm suspension moves up and down so the clearance can be kept closer than a live axle. Live axles roll inward and outward as one side of the axle is compressed and the other extended. The clearances on live axles have...
There are obviously huge advantages of having at trailer that turns quickly when reversed. It's all about controlling the turn and a matter of practice. Of course it's best to get the practice done before you head out on the trail, in a controlled environment like an empty parking lot.
Once you...

With the Zodi Extreme I'd recommend replacing the shower head with one with an on/off thumb activated switch and throwing away the heater unit that comes with it.
Good things about it are it's stainless steel, can go right on the stove to heat the water up, has a temperature strip showing the...
Lets make sure we are referring to the tools correctly.
The long steel bars used to get a tire off the rim are called Tire Irons, sometimes referred to as spoons. The come with different bends to the spoon on the end of the iron that help in the removal process.
Tyre Plyers are an Australian...
The Max coupler originally came in a 3500 lb Class II rating, and then was upgraded to 6000 lb Class III.
When the coupler was redesigned for the Class III some modifications were made to the yoke on the vehicle side, it was flared a little to make coupling easier.
Are people finding...
Mike, How are you balancing the tires? Do you have a hand balance and weights or are you using plastic balls or neither??
How long does it take you to take a tire off the rim?
How long does it take you to put it back on the rim?
If you've looked at the videos I made of going through both...

I concur that you should practice in your garage with all the tools before you hit the trail.
If your looking for something a little less expensive, and propane isn't a problem, then the heater AT offers would be a good alternative. Forced air with a thermostat, on/off controlled by thermostat.
The unit comes as a kit ready to install.
