I run 285/75/16s and currently see no need for anything bigger. Maybe 35s if I feel crazy one day. It would be nice to have a little more capacity though, my current tires rub the leaf springs on one side at a full turn.
I am not a fan of lift kits. I don't think they do much at all...
Thanks, good to hear!
I realize the truck rides rough because it is unloaded, this wouldn't effect the front as much as the rear, however. It's mostly the front end that is rough as hell. I do have Bilstein HD shocks and an ARB bumper/ Warn M12 up front which should add some weight there...
Hi All!
I've got a 2000 7.3 F250 with a few modifications. Suspension is stock. Has plenty of clearance at factory height but the springs are STIFF.
I went up Argentine Pass over the weekend. Not difficult at all, technically speaking, but holy moly this truck is a rough ride... handles...
Hard top is the way to go. If you plan to keep it more than a couple years I would pony up for a tried and true James Baroud or Autohome. There are a million Chinese made knockoffs on the market now (Roofnest, Bigfoot, etc.) I have looked at several of them and I can say they seemed like crap...
Nice setup! IFS would be great, and yes; My turning radius is not the best.
I love the simplicity of the regular cab but storage has been an issue. I ended up ripping out the bathroom in the 815 (never planned to use it anyway) and turned it into a big closet with room for a few more...
What is your price range? That will greatly narrow your results.
Four Wheel Campers makes a hard-side model. Welded aluminum frame. I'd go that route on a flatbed if I had unlimited funds.
I opted for an older Lance 815, it was $3600 but in pretty good shape. I have about $2k in it on top...
I had my Maggiolina Grand Tour mounted on Yakima rails atop a LEER topper on my F250. It was wayyy up there off the ground, too tall for parking decks/drive thrus but it did the job and I still had full use of my 8' bed with the cap on it.
Add-a-leafs ride like ********.
Just get new springs.
I tried a set from sdtrucksprings.com; Can't comment on long term use but 6 months and 10k miles; so far so good.
Some trucks use TTY (torque to yield) u-bolts. Keep that in mind when replacing, if yours are TTY from the factory they are NOT...
She's a real beauty...

Hi, new to the forums. I am selling my Frontier!
2000 Nissan Frontier 4x4 V6, 5 spd Off Road, 110,000 miles with roof-top tent - $8500
This is the Off Road model with manual transmission, manual windows and locks. Nothing fancy but it does have working AC.
