This reminds me of a question someone proposed to me once: "If Harbor Freight sold an airplane, would you fly in it?"
Yeah, no way.
A winch is like a piece of safety gear, it's not something to skimp on.
(this is coming from a guy who frequently shops HF :-)
Ditto on the white being water vapor .
A failed headgasket or a cracked block is letting coolant into the cylinder, which is then heated to steam when the fuel/air combust, then it is blown out the exhaust pipe and the steam condenses in the air after cooling off a little (much like water vapor...
They are nice rigs, but that one looks a little too "molested" for me... what's up with the bed's fenders?
BTW, did y'all know that this generation of Hilux which ended in 1988 in most of the world, was continued to be manufactured in South Africa util 1997...
I think the biggest problem is the positioning hoods... most vehicles weren't designed with the idea of having stuff sitting on the hood, so the hood is higher than one on an LR, and any items would obstruct the driver's view too much to put much anything up there (such as even a narrow tire).
No
friggin'
way.
That is awesome.
I used to own a '75 Toyota Chinook. It was fun, but the real drawbacks was the old truck it was built on.

You have resolved that... now if you can just fix that it doesn't have a bathroom...
Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 is my EDC (every day camera :-) when ever I'm somewhere interesting.
They are builtfor all conditions, especially easily concealment while on the street which is important to me.

Those are some incredible vehicles, thanks for posting the photos!
This bumper looks a bit odd to me..
It's somewhat reminiscent of:
Icon's Dodge truck is just too sweet... classic styling, super modern components/performance.
Robert,
You're welcome; welding is an art, a science and a fun game. :-D
BTW, if you enjoy doing the fab yourself, it is totally worth the time and effort to take a welding class at a local community college.
I took a class a few years ago as part of the "Community Education" classes (IE, not...
I just saw Toyota's commercial... pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=lpCJ-H0iUzI#!
I read somewhere that those aren't really camera flashes, they are strobe lights... which is pretty obvious if you look at the light source location :-D
The dolly was build...
I read elsewhere that the concern was the width of the bridge.
Toyota definitely has a lot of influence in that arena... but transferring the shuttle from one vehicle to another incurs big risk... if they were to drop it or it were to fall, it would have been a disaster. I suspect that it...
I have a a couple of Mora knives that I keep on hand. I tried them because the brand is recommended by Ray Mears, and the history of Swedish knife production is long and interesting.

This is one of them: Mora of Sweden Carbon Knife # 1...
That tongue failure is scary, you're lucky that you didn't lose it completely off the side of the road in rolling mess... or worse into the other lane!
The camper looks great btw. Subscribed!
Robert,
The trailer is coming along nicely.
Regarding your tongue weld:
You didn't get good penetration. You can tell by how it appears that the bead is just sitting on the metal, somewhat like a bead of water sitting on a waxed car.
You later welds on the thinner stuff are...
An interesting statement in the youtube comments:
This appears to validate that statement (from http://www.chron.com/business/article/Texas-made-Tundra-gets-historic-towing-job-3944725.php)
