    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Added an original 1940s or 50s made in the USA Squirt bottle opener to the front bumper on the driver's side. Used rivets to fasten it in place.

    Engine stutter/stall on an automatic?

They are found on ebay on a regular. I bought one by accident when I was trying to get one for my LS. I think they are ~40 to 50 dollars and most are free shipping. I will look for it today and if I find it I can send it to you. I can't use it for mine as the ones for an LS are different than...

Nissan patrol vtec GQ in ghost rider 2

cicadas... They are loud! Got them in NC as well, just no where near the amount that they get up here. Nice Patrol you have there.

    Valve clicking?

To be honest, I use dino oil in mine. Havoline 10w 40 for the most part. If I have to add, I put 20w 50 in there. Royal purple is the best oil in my opinion, but mobil one seems to make the most synthetic and is one of the leaders in that sort of thing. Seems that they offer the best bang for...

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Finished up today. Here is the finished product on the right side and as I was doing the left. They only needed minor adjustments as they were designed for a toyota. Yes, I used gussets and angled them at 45 degrees down. Two in the middle and one for the front and rear of each side. I put a...

    Engine stutter/stall on an automatic?

Idle controller. It is located on the throttle body. I believe I may have one for the 3.5 laying around here somewhere.

    Valve clicking?

Glad it worked for you. You should notice an increase in you oil pressure as well.

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

I'm itching to get the other side welded up. Just have to wait for the rain to stop... Ugh. 99% humidity won't do for the paint either.

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Using my crappy gas less welder that kept exceeding the duty cycle and shutting off.... about 3 hours total. If I'd had a good gas welder it would have been 45 minutes tops. I priced out how much a local shop would have charged me and I refuse to pay anyone 400 to 600 for a simple welding job...

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

I went ahead and started my rock slider install today with my crappy welder. These are Trail Gear 67" rock sliders made for a toyota. The fit is perfect as far as length goes. I got one side finished but it was dark by then. Here is a picture of it just before I started.

    Pajero Mk1 Tourer build-up

Top notch job. I may use your idea for my rear bumper, only mine will have one spare as I don't have the need for 2.

I'm a man of the people...... :) Yeah, I'd have him use grade 8 if it were me. 5 on each side should be okay.

They are going to use more and better bolts to attach it to the frame right? Not sure if that set-up will work if you plan on winching very much.

    1989 Montero Build

X2. Sometimes you can get good deals on the shipping if you find a good company to bring it to you. (the engine that is.)

    Gen2 ARB Safari Snorkel Install

I used my bur tip and drill to make quick work of it. I can tell you that cutting the big hole without a hole saw is quite amusing. Sawzall metal blades can grab the fender and start shaking it like it owes it money..... You had to be here to get that....

Who still makes oil cooler lines?

Just be sure that it's aluminum and not completely plastic. Try to stick with the good old green antifreeze... That extended life stuff can gum up your cooling system.

    1989 Montero Build

I do keep the flanges as spares when I go out just in case though. I have never had a problem out of the times I have gone out, but you never know. If you could tell us about where you are located, we could probably help you finding a reputable engine tech, or engine.

When I did mine, they were off a bit as well. I went ahead and used it and just adjusted as needed.
