The truck lives in VT. With the precedent of rusting frames and spare tire carriers rusting, a gas tank strap rusting and dropping the tank on the road is a serious situation. I'm trying to determine how common this situation is.
I've had the frame coated and the Spare Tire recall completed by Toyota. Today the strap holding the skid plate and gas tank to the frame rusted through. Tank dropped about two inches. Glad I wasn't off road with the kids or in another more precarious situation. Anyways ratchet strapped the...
And peace to you to Jerry. Expeditions take all shapes and forms, it appears your next journey will be most challenging and rewarding even though it requires no lift kits or at tires. You're altruistic behavior is an inspiration...Carry on.
Sounds about time to head very south, baja? Beautiful colors in the pics we are at peak here in VT. Keep sharing, your approach to a thoughtful, quality life is motivating. Peace
Have I missed something? What do others know about this soon to be produced crew cab truck? Not related to ford/mazda ranger collaboration. Only produced overseas. Comparable to Hilux.
Too sweet. That was my first vehicle. With a name like Luv who could go wrong until the frame cracked . Beat the crap out of that thing as a 17 year old and it just kept going. Enjoy.

I might as well throw in another vote for the General Grabber AT2s. I'm very pleased with their performance. Tar, snow, mud, water, rock, wallet, its all good.
With at least 3 of the staff at Expeditions West having extensive experience in the Tacoma, I'm wondering what their thoughts are regarding the 01-04 frame restoration/replacement program? Is the restoration process a viable fix? What type of issues could develop with frame replacement with...
Slam a 100,000 mile powertrain warantee on it. It almost looks like an older tacoma from the hood back. Like the outer bed tie downs. Reminds me of the old toyota trucks. Put that diesel in in and your selling some cakes.
Had the Vatiiva's for 3 snowy/icy Vermont winters. Great the first two winters, but they wear real fast, and were not impressive the third winter. soft compound. Now we're wearing General Grabber AT2s. In the first two snows one of which was pretty icy the Grabbers performed very well. Hope...
