No boogie bumps yet, waiting to see how much weight Im going to carry around regularly and then Ill fine tune the rear a little. As for swaybar, Thuren does not make a rear swaybar that Im aware of. Maybe they used to make one?
I got the hydro assist installed last night. Pretty...
Its about to start getting good in here. The last of the suspension bits have finally rolled in and Blazer camper #2 is on hold for a couple weeks so that means time to tear into this thing. The full list, for now, is the following:
Thuren Power Wagon front coils
Thuren Power Wagon rear dual...
But wait, THERES MORE!!
Once everything was cleaned out I got to rewiring. I used 10awg for the main wires which is overkill but I figured a little bigger than necessary isnt a bad thing. I also opted to use rubber grommets everywhere the wires go through the aluminum frame. A little lube helps...
Well, I cant believe its been three months since I last updated this thread. I have been working on the camper a lot but its been incredibly slow going. When you mix that with holidays and tons of house projects and tons of other vehicle projects, as well as trying to sneak in some "just the two...
I have gone through the AEV installation guides looking for tips. I dont plan on pushing my front axle as far forward as AEV does unless push really comes to shove. What I need is to find bulk fender liner material so I can build my own liners after Im finished trimming.
As for steering Ill be...
Oh yeah, Ive got a plan that is starting to come together after test fitting that Toyo. Unfortunately I under estimated how tall a brand new 40 with full tread is. There will definitely be cutting...
So I drove the Blazer yesterday for the first time in a couple weeks. It was running perfectly when I parked it. It seemed to have developed a misfire and sounded like it had a weird/new exhaust leak. So I was rolling around underneath trying to diagnose and I came across this...🤣
Also got...
Ahh. Yes its going to require trimming and bump stops and I will be replacing the entire suspension. But it could be done without aftermarket suspension if you really wanted to.
If you wanted, 40s would fit with only trimming and bump stops. Just a matter of what you are willing to do. Im not sure why full size truck guys are so anti trimming. It will require less trimming to fit these 40s than it did to fit (baby BFGs) 37s on my Tacoma.
Not so fresh off the heels of my beloved 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, which was my favorite vehicle of all time, Im finally back in another 3/4 ton truck. This one is a little different but keeps the same mentality. Its a basic "Tradesman" trim level. But its a POWER WAGON!!! My fleet feels like it is...
Once I got it back from powder I mounted the winch and started to test fit the bumper.
The winch didn't clear the "wings" of the Engineered Vintage frame plates so I had to cut them down. Thankfully I was able to cut them flush to the frame rails without getting rid of any mounting holes I was...
Holy crap its been almost 3 months since Ive updated this thread. Its not for lack of progress, just lack of time. The biggest project I completed was a new front bumper. So here is Front Bumper Part 1 of 2.
Ive been thinking about how to build this for years. Before I did the motor swap I...
I guess it depends on what you want/expect from it. They are using the same front end as a modern Ford Super Duty. Non-Tremor Super Dutys and also GM/Dodge 3/4 and 1 ton trucks (that are not the Power Wagon which have different control arms and flex really well) are built to carry tons of...
As a Thor 19G owner I have to agree the layout looks better on the 19RD. The rear dinette has more room and windows on all 3 sides is a really cool feature. My only concern would be driver seat leg room. Econolines are already known for the seats not scooting very far back or being able to...
In for this discussion. I need to adjust the speedo on my RV. I already have Forscan and got a cheap tablet to run it. Only hooked it up and used it one time and didnt know how to do much.
Looks like Clydesdale Vans is the company behind this. They use factory 2005+ super duty front axles and suspension. So its coil springs with super beefy control arms. Will ride/handle like ******** and wont flex at all offroad.
Video #2 is up. It doesnt quite catch up to where I am in this build thread but its close. Next week Ill finally be bringing the camper down to Phoenix to start the next phase. Please watch like and subscribe!!
