Epic Snow Storm Wheeling & Camping excursion

Great images! I'm surprised there are no snap-shots of folks around a roaring fire. Our winter trips always include a huge, roaring fire...I can only spend so much time in a tent or camper. Cheers

    Maverick or Ridgeline? 🤔 I’m stuck…

In regards to a pop-up camper... I would recommend looking at pop-up campers that are not "wedge" style. Our Tacoma (long bed) has an Ovrlnd camper. It is light weight and the top deploys straight up, so you have plenty of room when getting in and out of bed. This also makes it nice to sit up in...

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

I stopped the Coroplast short so it wouldn't bind up the bed when you slide it in and out. My plan is to cover the strip with marine grade, low-mat carpet that I'm using on the ceiling. Cheers

    Cast iron question

Cowboy Kent has a good "how-to" restore and season cast iron article. https://kentrollins.com/restoring-cast-iron/ Cheers

Looks great! How does the bed slide in and out with the Coroplast in place? I was worried about the bed putting holes/dents in the Coroplast when it's slid in/out. Cheers

Wow! The snow levels must be very low if Hunter Mt. is clear. Cheers

In all honesty, most of my cooking is done in dutch ovens and cast iron skillets...so really just washing plates and utensils in the end. Cheers

    Carb at high elevation

It appears the easy/inexpensive route (for now) is the old stand-by... Swap out the jets and lean it out a bit with adjustments. Congratulations on the new addition to your family! Cheers

    Carb at high elevation

My old Toyota Pickup has a High Altitude Compensation System. It saves me from having to swap out jets and play with the tune when heading to the mountains from sea level. The post below has some good photos of most of the parts needed...

3rd Gen Montero Transmission Service Advice

Complete a full fluid exchange with SP3. The procedure is relatively simple. Drain and refill the pan. Remove the ATF line that feeds the cooler. Cycle the ignition (briefly) so some fluid is pumped out of the line. Replace through the dipstick. Continue brief cycling of ignition until fresh...

Bolting jerry can mounts directly to tailgate? Talk me out of it...

I had an '81 pickup (pictured in avatar) with a Blitz can mounted on the side of it that survived an extended trip to Panama and back to the states on many hundreds of miles of tracks. I used flat stock on the inside of the panel to spread the load. Not sure I'd mount it on the tailgate due to...

    Interior wall/ceiling covering

Thanks again for all the suggestions and replies! Wiring and insulation is completed. Settled on using Coroplast for wall/ceiling covering and affixing to the structure with 3/4" lathe screws. I only got a bit done on the ceiling so far (working on it between jobs and chores). I'll cover the...

2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD xPro - Full Overland Build, No Expense Spared

OP, Nice rig! I drove to Costa Rica and back in the early 1990's with the Toyota pickup in my avatar. ...don't forget El Salvador. We had some interesting interactions with the police/military in the mountains of Guatemala. It was quite the adventure. We made it safely there and back to the...

    Interior wall/ceiling covering

I do have "heavy duty", sticky backed velcro that claims to hold "up to ten pounds". I was considering using something like that, in the event I need to add more wiring or have access to wiring. However, the ridged velcro is something that I haven't looked into yet. Thanks for the suggestion. I...

    Interior wall/ceiling covering

I considered using the finish washers, but thought the lath screws would be a more inexpensive solution and work just as well. ABS is still on the list of possible material...thanks for the thickness spec., tirod3. Cheers

    Interior wall/ceiling covering

destefan, Thank you for the great feedback on Coroplast. I'm starting to lean in that direction a bit now that I've heard that it is standing the test of off-highway travel. How are folks adhering it to the walls and ceiling? If I go this route, I'm thinking about screwing it with lath...
