@UjointoffroadCO strikes again! After completing the front clip upgrade, I reached out to Justin at U-joint CO and bought a front bumper. It has been sitting in my driveway for a couple of weeks covered in snow. The day before Thanksgiving I decided to begin the install. I purchased the...
Changing the fuel filter on an E-Series 7.3L diesel is moderately difficult because there is not much room to work with and you have all kinds of stuff in your way. The fuel bowl is buried in the valley right on top of the HPOP. I have seen some YT videos of people deleting the fuel bowl, adding...
I, too, bought one of the 2007 Fusos from the wildland fire fighting company in Bend, OR. These trucks were not abused and were meticulously maintained. I have long since sold mine (I think in 2018), but the current owners stay in touch. Outliers Overland They have not had any mechanical issues...
I completed the wiring of the other two bulbs (turn and park).

I will have a document soon that will show step by step this entire process. In the meantime, the only bracket I had to make was for the upper fender mounting points. There were two on the 2003 and the 2008+ has a different design. So I took a piece of alum rectangular stock 1"X2", cut it to...
Here is a pic showing it nearly finished. Need to figure out blinkers and parking lights. Need to install new hood release cable (temp one hidden in bumper). More details tomorrow.
I have figured out the headlight wiring. I had three wires on the 2003 going to the headlight: red/black (low beam), black (ground), and green/black (high beam). The connector on the new lights has numbered pins 1 (low beam), 2 (ground), 3 (high beam).
By the way this is a good time to upgrade...
To finish the project, I am ordering the U-Joint "2008 & Up" front bumper. Pic from U-Joint site below

@grpeterson Great advice to get the updated cross member(1), left and right upper cross member grill support bracket (2 and 3), and the two support brackets that hold the trans cooler, power steering cooler, and provides additional grill support points (4 and 5). For 2 & 3 you could get away...
OMG, thanks so much. I have the fenders and hood mounted and was struggling with how the remaining parts would mount. Everything so far has been relatively straightforward. Nothing is bolted down tight, yet and I have stopped for the day as well.
I have gathered all of the necessary parts and watched a number of YT videos on the front clip swap. I have noticed that a new hood latch and longer cable are necessary. I have also noted that most people build an adapter plate to mount the new hood latch. Has anyone done this? Will you share...
I am not 100% sure on this, but I don't think the regulation looks at your actual weight. It looks at the rated weight which is on the GVWR sticker. My e450 is rated at 14050.
Adventure Touring Jacket and Pants - high visibility with CE protection throughout. Actual product SKU and original order shown below.
Only used 1 time for about 15 minutes on a winter ride to a local trailhead and back due to snow conditions. I have since sold the bike. I will ship these to...
@RVflyfish …yes you could easily add a drawer with the 80/20 frame.
The 80/20 seat bracket are very easy to adjust. While the stock seat bases are higher in the front, I found that the Mercedes seats fit best with a level seat platform. I had previously adapted the stock seat bases to the...
On flooring, I have used commercial-grade linoleum, tile, and carpet on previous builds. My current build has a coin flooring product from RecPro.com coin floor from recpro.com. It is the best product I have ever used. No seams to leak, durable, non-slip-ish, and when clean, it is just stunning.
Here are some pics of the nearly finished ambo interior. I love the coin floor (it's a little dirty, but then again it's winter in MT!) One feature you can't see is an outlet on the left side house bench seat. That outlet and a few others are always on when you have commercial power. In the...
Hello again. It has been a while since my last update. I spent September - November 2023 getting to the interior details. That means adding the ceiling, walls, drawers, seating, flooring, etc. I wanted a solution that would be perfect for two, but capable of transport/seating four. I added...
And now for the first impressions from the maiden voyage. From Livingston MT to Camano Island WA, it is roughly 1600 miles round trip. We left on MT Sunday afternoon Oct 30 with a storm off the Pacific coast heading for the island. While we wanted to use Hwy 2 from Spokane to Monroe, we ended...
We decided that our maiden voyage would be a trip to Camano Island to camp with my cousin and his family. When my daughter heard plan she decided she wanted to go, so time to add another seat and sleeping platform. I purchased Sienna seat from e-Bay and had a seat base from U-joint that I...
