Help me not burn my truck down

Do you have a link to an example of what type of fuse is used for this? Because the busbar will have MRBF fuses integrated and terminal fuses on each battery, I'm not sure where to put one unless it was inline on the positive cable of the charger somewhere close to the battery.

This is such a great catch, I should have thought of this. Thank you.

Help me not burn my truck down

I had originally planned to do this but someone else said it wasn't necessary for only 300w of solar. I'm going to add a 60A breaker. That's what I figured too. I already have a 10ft run of 2/0 so I'll probably just use it anyways. 900w and 92% efficiency, so actually it should probably be...

Help me not burn my truck down

I have a 120A Blue Sea class-t fuse that I was considering using after the two terminal MRBF fuses before the switch, which is ABYC code. In my case I'm not sure it's needed, but all for extra insurance. Not sure though to your point if needed with this smaller bank size. If I eventually add...

Help me not burn my truck down

Really helpful, thanks for sharing this. Is this in reference to the wire length for connection between batteries only? Or also the wire length from the positive terminal to the switch and negative wire to bus?

Help me not burn my truck down

Hi all, would appreciate a review of my wiring diagram for safety and correctness. This is my first attempt at building out a solar setup. It's going in my Overlnd camper on a 3g Tacoma. Designed for self-sufficient remote camping for 2-4 days at a time. System includes: 2x Epoch 105ah...

Random question but where did you get the cover for the positive pressure vent? Looks super clean. I’ve been looking for something similar. Thanks

I’m knee deep in planning my interior build and stuck on trying to figure out how to incorporate a sink, primarily to do dishes. I’d be really grateful for any examples folks have or suggestions? Here’s what I’m working with: 1. The interior is really just reserved for sleeping and the kitchen...

Super simple, just goes right above the barn doors. Haven’t yet had it in wet weather so I can’t comment on the effectiveness yet.

One thing to consider is increasing the barn door height. We did this and it makes getting in and out easier. We also had them add a drip channel above the barn doors to move condensation away in the mornings, it was only an additional $30. Another little add on we did was having them install...

Has anyone built out a lower bunk bed sleeping solution along the bulkhead? I have two small kids and considering all options on how to set up the lower sleeping arrangement. Something like this seems like an interesting option.

One I’ll add that was only $30 to include but a total game changer is having them add eyelets on the front and rear side for our 270 awning straps to hook to.

I already own the Nomadic 270 and love the amount of real estate we get for shade/shelter from rain.

Appreciate it. I got a response from Ovrlnd that their awning weight limit is 60lbs. Not sure what I’m going to do. I did a trip this past weekend that was over 50 miles off road and the trail was pretty rough. I couldn’t help but think I would be nervous had the awning been on the camper.

Is anyone running an OVS Nomadic 270 awning (not the LT or LTE)? I’m working on my build coming up and it sounds like they won’t mount it due to the weight, which is around 70 lbs. Curious if anyone’s run into any issues with this particular awning and what your experience has been over time...

    OVRLND Build Spot Available FS

My build completion date is early/mid-November. Plans changed and looking to hand off to someone. $500 and would help coordinate with them. You can customize specs however you want. Thanks!

This is really helpful, thanks. I think I messaged you on IG about the positive pressure vent - I’m definitely going to go with one of those. Did you buy the whole hatch assembly and just use the vent? Or is the vent available on its own? We mob around the desert a lot in the winter so it seems...

I'm about 3 months out from my install date and about to send in the specs for our build. Of the folks who have had theirs now for a while and done a few trips, anything that you wouldn't live without now at this point and would recommend including? Or didn't include and wish you would have...

    The Dometic CFX3 Mega Thread

Battery protection was set to low as shown in the videos. I tested the fridge again yesterday by running it off the starter battery in my truck via the DC cigarette plug. Was using medium battery protection. Right away it gave me a low voltage warning and would not cool. I checked again after...
