OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

I went to CameraSource.com and bought the appropriate camera relocation kit for my RAM. You plug an extension wire into the existing harness at the tailgate, then run the camera to wherever you want. This way there's no added screens, and you maintain 100% factory performance from your tailgate...

REALLY glad I'm not in the market, as I'd be taking a road trip to Mass right this second! GLWS!

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

If you search through here waaaaaay back, you'll find some solutions where folks were using a wedge of foam or wood to fit into a hatch opening and run the hose into the bottom of the wedge with a louver on the inside. That's assuming you have a hatch. Otherwise, yeah, you'll have to cut a hole...

    Arkto Campers-Shakedown, Update

I mean that’s great and all but for our travels and trails I’ll put the clearance, and independent/vertical wheel travel over the handling of a torsion axle any day [emoji2371]. I’ve done plenty of stuff in my Subaru with zero issues or complaints that had all the Jeepers doing a double-take...

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

100% this. I put some 1/2" drip rail on and...well...that was useless! We have full barn doors, and it would just run right into the door/down the inside of it. I then bought an awning gutter to fill the space when our 270 is deployed and now have a dry entrance and exit from the truck so long...

    Arkto Campers-Shakedown, Update

Depends on how rough it gets but I've taken the trailer tires down to 25 and my truck down to 30 when it gets really rocky, but I'm rolling slow so as to not overheat the tires. I'm running 37s on a heavy Power Wagon with a built out pop-up camper shell. Could I go lower? Probably. But I've not...

    Arkto Campers-Shakedown, Update

We've had zero build issues with ours. Only negative I can think of is I'm not a huge fan of the flooring material as it has a bit of a softish texture, but is rough and collects a lot of dirt. You have to scrub it pretty well to get it clean. We put a rug down inside and are really picky about...

    Generation-One Tundra Front Brakes

Nope. Did the same brake upgrade on my '05 Sequoia (same as the Tundra). You'll need 17s.

    "Cheaper" seats for overland travel?

That's the first time I've had any thought called "logical" in a while. Make me feel kinda weird  I bought a Scheel-Mann for our dearly departed Sequoia's driver's seat. In retrospect, it would've made a lot more sense to just replace the foam that the previous owner had put nearly a...

    "Cheaper" seats for overland travel?

I haven't seen this suggested, but...if the seats were comfortable before being worn out...why not just try and source new seat foam for said seats?

    campsite pics..lets see um

Man...I thought it was great when our then company of 10 piled into an RV and another vehicle and drove to our CEO's house on the shore across from Wallops Island to watch a launch (that was scrubbed). So...um...where can I send a resume?

Talk to me about insulated canvas

So...couple valid points have been touched on. I got the insulation in ours AND we have an OVRLND on our truck like @montechie with the insulation. TL;DR...get the insulation. You're not winter camping, but those longer, cold nights will bleed any heat through the vinyl and you'll really have...

    Arkto G12 Review and Discussion

Good points on lighting. I didn't even think of it as we carry around two of the Devos Lightranger 1200 lights (highly recommend). As it is, the exterior lighting is ok for scene/general illumination to avoid things moving around but not real effective as the sole light to cook by. I do like...

    Arkto G12 Review and Discussion

Awesome! 1. When we got ours, 400AHr was the most battery power he had and AC wasn't an option. As much as Virginia sucks, that would've been a nice option, but that's unique to any use case...and once we move to WY in a couple years will, hopefully, be a nonissue! An upgrade we should've done...

    Arkto G12 Review and Discussion

Awesome! We actually spent a couple days in Missoula at an AirBnB while on the way to pick up our trailer back in May. Paul's Pancake Parlor is eeeeeeeeeeevil! HAHAHAHA

    Arkto G12 Review and Discussion

Call/email Arkto. Aaron and his crew are amazing and will hook you up if there's anyone in the area. There's also a FB group Arkto Campers G12 Owners that you can join and see if anyone there can help (Aaron is on there as well). I don't think there are many of us on ExPo, comparatively.

Convince me an Arkto G12 (or something I haven't thought of yet) will suit a family of 3's needs

I haven't. I do want to run over some scales with the truck packed and then, again, with the trailer packed, but just haven't gotten around to it. One of these days I'll measure tongue weight at home. It IS, however, really easy to adjust given the amount of storage behind the axle. My PW is...

Convince me an Arkto G12 (or something I haven't thought of yet) will suit a family of 3's needs

Be sure to ping Aaron (@Arkto ) as he may have a willing owner in the area that would be happy to show you their trailer. I lucked out as he hit me up here when I was looking and it just happened that a local just got home with theirs and was more than happy to meet. Resulted in two sales as a...

SOLD - American Adventure Lab M.A.S.S. Spare Tire Platform (STP) w/ Straps

I could've had it at least as close as central WY two months ago ;) I'd say make a road trip, but...the East Coast is blech, and it's currently hurricane season, and it's been oppressively humid and hot for 6+ weeks straight. :cautious: In other words...we can't wait to get the hell out of here...
