WOW!! Impressive work.
I am trying to follow along.
In 2019 you started a build to travel around the world.
You took a shakedown trip in 2020
Made a video ad to sell it in 2021
You posted that video in 2025.
Curious what happens/changed along the way. Thanks!
It’s physics, which is of course a science, which of course is no longer applicable.
Likely it is just symantics of ‘pulling power’. It doesn’t increase the overall pulling power of the winch, but it reduces the load on the winch by 1/2.
Don’t worry about all the potential problems. In the end you will always regret not owning one and embracing whatever it brings you.
Life is too short to have regrets like that. No one in the history of the world has ever sat on their deathbed and said “boy am I glad I didn’t buy that cool...
That is WAY COOL. He seemed like a fantastic guy. And it was refreshing to talk with someone who actually understood travel.
I would love to see the result. Can you post here?
I have no ulterior motives and wish you the best with the sale with what is, in my opinion, the best platform for an overlanding rig.
I responded to the post that wondered why it was still for sale.
I gave my personal reasons. It possibly could have been received as useful feedback to the OP...
Possibly because the never ending work being done ( or planned to do) makes it sound like a $300k project truck rather than a fully sorted out rig. But thats just me. YMMV
What. Beautiful rig. Do you have internal pics?
I would also like to see the upgrades as well as I didn’t think the taco had the load capacity.
For example on the Rossmonster Baja on the F350, which has some 3000# more load capacity to start with, has (I think) 1400#+\~ available after...
More pics in post 5. Somehow I am pictured challenged. Some post, some are links and some idk.
98,000miles!!! LIMITED Never off-road.
2nd owner since new. Purchased from Michaels Toyota in Bellevue wa in 2017. All work performed by them. All service done including 90k. Oil by them every...
Great stuff. I could never do this.
Curious, and maybe I missed it. By extending the frame rail from 3.65 to 4.2, the bending stresses (roughly speaking) in the beam rail increase by about 30-35% +\~ over what it was designed for. Did you have to strengthen the frame rail itself to...
