Instead of fabbing an entire canopy, would it be easier to just/buy/use an existing canopy and then a taller rack on the cab of the truck to match the height?

It will negatively affect your gas mileage, and possibly keep you from parking in a garage depending on your vehicle/tent etc. They also do get stolen off of people's cars, but that is probably more area dependant. Are you mounting to the factory roof rack or something aftermarket?

Looks clean for the mileage! You should color-match that grille. Here's my Tundra in the same color. (Yes I need to address the peeling old plasti-dip or paint from a previous owner.)

Nice! Lucky kid to have that as his first car! What are you going with for suspension? Everything up to date with the transmission services? I've read the earlier model year 460's have pretty common transmission issues if the fluid hasn't been changed regularly, and maybe even still if it has...
Do you say the same thing to all the people on big global expeditions with their social media pages on their vehicles and who run websites documenting their travels, like plenty of members on this forum? Eat a Snickers dude.
Such an awesome build dude. How does the flip-pac do in the winter with the rain fly and diesel heater? Stay pretty toasty inside? What's the coldest temperature you've camped in?

Both of those look really good. Do you have any pictures of your interior setup in the 2nd Gen? And I agree, the 5.7 feels night and day difference in terms of power.

Yeah my vote is 200 series Landcruiser/Lexus lx570, or 2nd Gen Sequoia. If a 4runner would work then a gx460 would also work. Basically the Lexus version of the 4runner, and those all have a 3rd row, albeit a very cramped 3rd row. A 200 series Toyota or Lexus sounds like it would fit the bill...
Wowzas! Pretty awesome build. Good work! Reminds me of the one that South to North Landcruisers is building up in Idaho.

No experience with them, but they look very nice. If you've got the money for them why not. Does your use really necessitate it though? Or would your money be better spent on a GX460/5th Gen setup?
