Pop up toppers (GFC, Lone Peak, Super Pacific, etc.) how much condensation and or leakage in the PNW or other humid environments?

I've only had my ATO Atlas a little over a month and have not experienced condensation yet. The topper was ordered bare but I purchased a MaxxAir fan and will install it when it's warmer and dryer out. I opted out of the thermal liner but will be sewing one myself using Thinsulate. The...

2m HAM (Dual): Monitor two 2m frequencies?

I'm pretty sure my dual band Kenwood TM-V7a can monitor two channels, same band at the same time. I'll need to fire it up and refresh my memory. I removed it from the truck while I was having the pop-up topper installed. In addition to the built in speaker facing up, the rear panel has dual...

2m HAM (Dual): Monitor two 2m frequencies?

I believe such a feature exists in some form. Some radios may allow extended reception modification (i.e. a hack) while others may have a "priority" frequency which then sequentially scans , or flip-flops a pair of programmed frequencies and then stopping when the squelch is broken.

    Big skylights on Amazon

Studying the photo and specs of the Bomar the question which stuck in my mind was how well that would work for a roof which had, say, a 2"+ thickness. The MaxxFan seem to be constructed for thickness and you would chop the flange to fit. But how would you handle something like the Bomar design...

Do you actually use or need a pass thru window from camper to pickup?

Widebody windows but too costly for me to consider. I'll just watch my waistline so I won't have to call 911 for their jaws of life https://breezerwindows.com/camper-shell-window/

Do you actually use or need a pass thru window from camper to pickup?

I got lucky then. 40+ years with 2 pass-through Leers and no issues with leaking. Hard to assess the effectiveness of a product based on a described 'feature' without identifying the model or design. That's using exception based logic. Really need more information to support a conclusion

Do you actually use or need a pass thru window from camper to pickup?

i can still crawl through as an escape route (or if I lock keys in cab) it serves as access to the extended cab 'cellar' for reach-in storage I can reach custom lighting control panel if needed (fog, light bar, rear fogs) great for forward view when I'm in the camper it can help bring light into...

    Jump starter/ pack/charger

Does dead mean 2vdc, 5vdc, 11vdc ? The Fuso battery requirements call for 950cca which is pretty generous rating. The past few years the smaller, handheld power packs utilize super capacitors. This design uses residual voltage from the battery to charge and amplify the capacitor ...similar to...

Adhesive Identification and Removal Advice - Help!

If you do clean the butyl off, I would strongly advise putting it back on using a clean 10mm flat ribbon shaped to about 1-2mm thick. As others have already stated, it serves to keep the plastic sheet sealed around the metal door and minimize water from soaking the inside door panel. Nice...

Are pop-up campers more popular than hard-side purely due to how they look when mounted on a truck?

I'm purchasing my pop up topper for occasional outings into the nearby forests and parks and also my bugout command post when the big Cascade earthquake hits. Additionally, I've opted for the topper vs slide in since it did not require additional RV type registration here in WA state. Just...

Yes, when I began shopping around the various dealers, I learned that more often than not, they only handle accessorizing such as adding lights, awnings, and other misc items. But if it came down to larger scale add-ons like cutting in a skylight, pass-through window, framework for cabinets...

I see this place near me (SODO seattle) and though it appears unlikely that they specialize in anything more generic than vans, it wouldn't hurt to contact them. https://www.peacevans.com/
