Awesome! Thank you gentlemen, it's much appreciated. I had a good feeling that making a post about it may end with success.

If anyone finds a jacket at Lippincott mine...

Hey all, I went out to the Death Valley area from March 16-20. I took off my jacket near the entrance to one of the mine entrances at Lippincott and forgot to grab it before leaving. I didn't realize I left it there until I got to Titus canyon and couldn't justify driving all the way back to get...

Tread Unlightly - Chaos at Usal Beach (Lost Coast)

That first pic of the rolled over truck with the empty beer bottle in front of it would make for a great drinking & driving advertisement.

    Death valley last weekend

Nice pics. I hope to get a Dual Sport one day. That looks like a great way to travel. I just started riding a street bike a couple months ago and it is a blast. Thanks for the update. I will just be taking the South Pass and probably camping at Lee Flat to check out the sites around there if...

    Death valley last weekend

Awesome. I am leaving Friday morning for a short 2 night strip in DV myself. I came here to check to see if there were any updates on road conditions. I had been planning to take Saline Road from 190 and then turnong onto Hunter Mountain RD to camp at Lost Burro mine the first night, but the...

    DeLorme PN-40 - Unlimited 1:24,000 Topos/Satellite imagery for $30/year

    DeLorme PN-40 - Unlimited 1:24,000 Topos/Satellite imagery for $30/year

So no comments on this? No one uses this unit? From reviews people say the accuracy rivals that of the Garmin CSx60 and that Garmin maps are fairly poor quality while DeLorme maps are known to be excellent. Their mapping software is also supposed to be powerful. Not trying to convince myself...

    DeLorme PN-40 - Unlimited 1:24,000 Topos/Satellite imagery for $30/year

I noticed most of the members here are users of Garmin devices. I looked into the Garmin 60CSx and the newer Oregon 400t. I didn't seriously look at the Nuvi 500 as it appears to be geared toward automotive use and in addition to expeditions, I will be using my unit for biking, backpacking, and...

    Death/Saline Valley 2/24

Man, I am planning on heading to Death Valley next weekend but after seeing these pics I know my 4x2 truck can't make it, at those elevations at least.
