Looking to buy my first high end bike light

That's a good point - different types of racing requires different lighting. Something using AAs is mandatory when you have no race pit or going multi-day!

Looking to buy my first high end bike light

Race lights are race lights (1800+ lumens) and commuter lights (800 or less) are...well...helpful. :) If you're truly on the fence as to whether you'd use a light for an overnight race again, I'd start with renting or borrowing a set for this race from a friend or bike shop. your $250 or less...

    Fatbikes in the snow

The Southwest Colorado Cycling Association received permission from the Forest Service this year to groom trails for fatbiking. Our focus has been on Boggy Draw trails above Dolores, CO. It's amazing, the number of bikers that are coming out and enjoying this. Folks from California to the...

    Fatbikes in the snow

Since Tuffy Security Products manufactures in SW Colorado, it's pretty easy to get out in the snow. It's been a good year! Tromping around town: Riding into a San Juan Hut on the north side of the Sneffels Range with my niece and nephew: (With about 3 feet of snow, don't get off the pack :) )

What if your expedition bicycles broken?

I agree with Christophe in that, so long as maintenance is done BEFORE a big ride, you'll rarely have troubles on the trail - save the unknown/unavoidable breakdowns. Before my wife and I rode the White Rim in a Day this April, I saw my lower pulley had cracked. Replaced it for $7 or so and it...

Import of parts to Europe and European alternatives - All experiences welcome

As far as the Tuffy security enclosure you're looking for, the Tuffy website should be able to get you a quote to ship it. Unfortunately, it's difficult to get a European dealer to stock products! We at Tuffy, and many of our US dealers, ship items around the world on a regular basis, so it...

How Do you Secure Expensive Camera Gear in Your Car while Travelling?

I may be biased, but reading through this, I would agree that this large lockbox will be your best bet. There's a quick-release on BOTH sides for a 3/8" cable - the quick-release latches are 1/4" thick plate steel! It's carpeted inside already, so items you don't use foam for are still protected.

    Smittybilt Security Storage Vault

I am probably biased, but look over the Smittybilt drawer VERY carefully. On their website you'll notice that the image of the drawer has the handle and lock photoshopped out. That image is actually a Tuffy Security Drawer - when I complained that they were promoting our product as theirs...

Is there anyone from Tuffy products here?

1.) There is not a mounting kit made specifically for the front runner rack but there is a universal mounting rack that will attach to most standard racks. http://www.tuffyproducts.com/p-201-156-universal-mounting-kit-for-roof-rack-box-146.aspx Or as the previous poster pointed out you can drill...

Handgun, electronics, and other valuable security

I don't think this will fit an XJ but we may look at those when we get a chance.

Handgun, electronics, and other valuable security

I wouldn't drive around without the drawer locked because it could slide open. It is more for stashing your handgun or valuables when you can't carry them with you (i.e. going in to the bank, etc..)

Tuffy TJ/LJ Conceal Carry Security Drawer

We are working on one for the TJ/LJ with flip up seat so all is not lost. It will be a little smaller but still a good concealed place to lock things up. Will keep you updated.

Thanks! Please feel free to crosspost, we want as many people to know about them as possible.

Tuffy TJ/LJ Conceal Carry Security Drawer

Have not tried that but I don't think it will work because of the crossbar under the flip seats. Even with the extra 1.5" the drawer would not clear the bar.

Handgun, electronics, and other valuable security

The TJ/LJ Conceal Carry Security Drawer for Jeeps that do not have the full "flip-up" drivers seat is done. Here is a picture and a link to the thread announcing it: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43146

Tuffy TJ/LJ Conceal Carry Security Drawer

Looking for a concealed, secure place to stash valuable in your TJ/LJ when you can't take them with you. The TJ/LJ Conceal Carry Security Drawer (No flip seat) offers some heavy-duty, lockable security in an out of sight place. This version is for models that do not have the drivers seat that...

Handgun, electronics, and other valuable security

Still not sure about the LJ. If we can make one it will have to be shorter in length than the current models due to the cross bars on the seat brackets. We are still working on it.

Handgun, electronics, and other valuable security

The Concealed Carry Drawer doesn't really interfere with the rear seat floor room at all. Here is a quick picture with the seat as far forward as it will go in a JK Unlimited.

Handgun, electronics, and other valuable security

The TJ/LJ version is in final stages. Design and prototypes are done and we are getting ready to send a batch through our manufacturing facility. We should have pictures and details on the web site shortly. Those that asked for email or PM updates, I will send as soon as they are added to the...
