FS: Howling Moon Tourer 1.2m RTT (CA Desert) $1750.00

Yep I do. The rack is an All Pro PackRack, if someone with a Tacoma is interested I'll toss it in to the deal for free, otherwise I'll be selling it too.

FS: Howling Moon Tourer 1.2m RTT (CA Desert) $1750.00

Hi all, I'm selling RTT. It has only been used a couple of times, the tent and platform are in like-new condition, and the cover is a little dirty but has no holes, tears, or worn parts. Two minor issues in the name of full disclosure: The strut that holds the extension over the door mates...

My Experience with Cascadia Vehicle Tents [Spoiler: Not great]

Update/Resolution: Bobby came and picked up my tent and mailed me a check for the purchase price last week. Problem solved, problem staying solved.

My Experience with Cascadia Vehicle Tents [Spoiler: Not great]

CVT has offered to give me a refund once again via email. We'll see if it works out this time. In the mean time, I purchased a Howling Moon tent and it is awesome.

My Experience with Cascadia Vehicle Tents [Spoiler: Not great]

Update: Nothing has changed. I haven't received any parts, Bobby offered to buy the tent back on Facebook but didnt reply to a text while he was relatively nearby at SEMA to coordinate. No phone calls, no emails, no messages. I'm picking up a Howling Moon on Saturday. Anybody in CA want a tent...

My Experience with Cascadia Vehicle Tents [Spoiler: Not great]

In retrospect, I really wish I had pictures of the box. Aside from some scuffs it looked perfect. My initial thought was actually that it was damaged on its way to NC, returned, reboxed, and shipped again. I totally get shipping damage, and I'd have even settled for a "That sucks, but we can...

My Experience with Cascadia Vehicle Tents [Spoiler: Not great]

Hi all, So here's the bottom line up front. I'm not exactly pleased with this purchase. I'd love to come up with some redeeming qualities (the tent sucks but the customer service is great, or vice versa), but I just cant. Here's my story, I've removed some line breaks to make it easier to...

DefconBrix | Military Inspired Overland Build

Man, I have to tell you that your truck is an inspiration. I'm a Marine Vet too, and started working on an expedition rig as a way to get out and decompress a bit. My Discovery II was more trouble than it was worth, so now I have a Tacoma. (I want to camp, not worry, damnit.) A pack rack has the...

An alternative to Terrafirma Swivel Recovery Shackles in a Terrafima bumper

Which brand were yours? I'm guessing you welded the backing plate into the inside of the bumper? My bumper was thick enough that if there was any more depth the snap rings wouldnt have seated... To be clear, there is very little play with these swivels and the Terrafima bumper.

An alternative to Terrafirma Swivel Recovery Shackles in a Terrafima bumper

Just a couple of minutes, put the swivel through the hole, seat the snap ring, and then bolt the shackle on. The tires are 235/85R16's. Nope no backing plate. Viking says they need a 1-7/16th inch hole, and as good as they fit I'm fairly certain the Terrafirma ones must be the same size...

An alternative to Terrafirma Swivel Recovery Shackles in a Terrafima bumper

A couple of days ago I installed Viking Offroad's recovery swivels into my Terrafima bumper. At about $50/per rather than $80/per I came out on top even after spending about $20 on a new snap ring pliers. http://i.imgur.com/iEAkdq2.jpg?1 Edit: I have no idea why that picture is upside down...

Discovery 2 Baja Rack EXP owners... Hardware fit?

Update 2 Update 2: After thinking on the problem for a while, I realized that if I carved the small inner lip out of the offending section of rain gutter I could probably get the feet all the way seated, so out came the chisels, and voila. I'd also like to apologize for the tone of my previous...

Discovery 2 Baja Rack EXP owners... Hardware fit?

Update Update: I talked to Baja Rack today and was told that the hardware kits are interchangeable. But, I'm still not impressed with the way the rack attaches. The clamps dont have much "depth" of reach under the rain gutter, and the front feet themselves are too wide to sit all the way...

Discovery 2 Baja Rack EXP owners... Hardware fit?

Hi all, I took receipt of a brand new rack yesterday, and now that the weather has cleared I set out to get it all mounted up. My issues is that it seems like the geometry on the clamps is a little off, like they could fit with some forcing but not really by design. I also have noticed that...

Leaking master cylinder, anything else I should knock out at the same time?

    Ah crap, I apologize. It's a 2001 Discovery II, V8 Automatic; 121,000.

Leaking master cylinder, anything else I should knock out at the same time?

Hi all, So after a fairly sudden loss of braking capacity, I had my truck looked at while I was getting wheels and tires mounted today, and the verdict was twofold: 1) The master cylinder is leaking. 2) The left rear axle (bearing? seal?) is leaking onto the rotor. So on Monday I'll be...

Beginning a Disco II Build: Terrafirma winch bumper and Viking Winch

Awesome thanks, that does look good. Does it weld on? Thanks! And yep, I'll be out near Palm Springs. Looking at spending quite a bit of time in Joshua Tree and Big Bear.
