One of the benefits of working for a lighting company (DENALI Electronics) is the ability to test products. The DENALI Soundbomb is a compressor horn that is wildly loud. The stock GX horn is fine, but the SoundBomb is crazy loud. Install was pretty simple, I only needed to scoot over the stock...
The cost of replacing the busted-out back window was not ideal, around $1000 from Lexus. At the time, the used market didn't have any windows for sale so we got creative. The team at Rugged Bound was extremely helpful at getting us set up with a pair of gull-wings for the rear windows. The plan...
After our Moab trip, it was pretty clear that the front bumper was a weak spot on the GX for the most modest of wheeling. We drug the front bumper numerous times on chill-ish forest service roads and that wasn't going to cut it.
I wanted a bumper that accomplished a few things: a spot to...
Using our theory of only modifying things to add utility and fix a problem with the OEM vehicle, the two areas that were most glaring problems for how we travel: lighting and roof storage. We travel mostly with an OZtent RX5 and the stock crossbars were not up to the task.
We opted for the...
It's about time for us to write a build thread on our 2006 Lexus GX470 that we have been adventuring in since 2020. The first few posts will be historical as we have put this vehicle together over the last few years. We were driving a 1986 Toyota 4Runner with no AC, sketchy power steering, and...
This is the best thread someone could find while looking for the perfect Overland Industry Operations Job. Lots of good information in the first 3 pages about what to look for/avoid. 🍿
Not my trailer, but I have used it for about a week and it has all of the bells and whistles that you would want in a trailer. The Overland Expo Foundation is doing a ton of good work and the proceeds go to benefit the foundation directly. The current price of $21,000 is a steal!
This 2022...
Obviously not my vehicle, but have put a handful of miles and nights in this vehicle and it is unbelievably nice. The Overland Expo Foundation is doing great work and this truck is a pretty good deal at the current bid of $77,777.
This 2022 Lexus LX600 was acquired by Overland Expo in May...
Obviously not my motorcycle, but the Overland Expo Foundation is doing great work and I have personally ridden a few hundred miles on this bike and it is absolutely top notch! Current price is at $12,250, which is a STEAL.

I am struggling to select a tire size for my mostly stock GX470 that meets the following criteria:
Taller than stock- We have really enjoyed 32" tires on previous rigs. (Looking at 265/70 and 255/75 but open to others) Want to be able to store in factory spare location.
Minimum C-rated...
I'll throw in an option that isn't mentioned much around these parts...VisionX makes a mean light.
Vision makes a ton of different sizes and styles and their stuff is made in S. Korea, not China.
Received an email after about a week and a warranty claim processed in only a couple of days. I hope our second unit lasts much longer than the first, but the DOMETIC customer service has been top notch! Jon was extremely prompt and professional!
How long should I wait on Dometic Customer Service to respond to the online warranty form before escalating?
My CFX3 95 DZ has only been used a total of 20 days and one side is overcooling and freezing everything when set on 40*F. The big side is fine and works as it should and the compressor...
We use an RX5 when we are on a big trip or have a lot of gear. Our backpacking tent comes along on quick or solo trips for just a weekend or overnighter. I have been intrigued by the Oztent RS1 swag, looks like the best of both worlds for solo travel.
I know this is a little old, but my wife and I use this one from Byers of Maine and have been really impressed.
