If I had a 50 mile commute I don't think a FJ would be my first choice...most likely an Audi or BMW sedan, and have a dedicated adventure rig. My commute is only 5 miles (round trip) I mostly ride the bicycle. The vehicles usually get used on the weekends and long distance travel. Walking...

Not that I am fan boy for the Jeep, but seems like they have accomplished that best of both worlds great styling, purposed built and modern convenances, and are out selling the FJ by leaps and bounds. I dunno, still think Toyota should of gone that direction, as I assume there people like me...

It is the styling that really bugs me, not the performance. Yeah I drove one to see what the hype is all about on and off road...just doesn't do it for me. That and it is like being in a cave. My buddy has a nicely kitted Wrangler JK....good gawd that thing is nice, and I am not a Jeep...

If it isn't trying to be a new FJ40 Landcruiser, why did they name it "FJ Cruiser" then? Just curious. There are styling cues from the grill and front fender treatment, and they it is painted. Just seems like a watered down version. Again please take no offense, nothing against what people like...

I dunno, I see many 40's being DD's running around here. It isn't that much of leap to modernize a 40 either. Toss in a EFI small block Chevy and link the suspension...maybe some AC from Vintage Air. Price would be in the ball park of a new FJ Cruiser, and you can take the top off...:ylsmoke...
