Gen 2 Rear Diff I'm not sure on the Gen 2 rear diff. The US Gen 3's didn't have an optional locking rear diff, so I would assume it would not be the same. Maybe some of the Gen 2 guys here can respond.

Thanks for the replies guys. It is the 3.5 SOHC. I have a 2001 Montero Limited. It is at the shop now getting the timing belt, valve cover gaskets, plugs & wires, etc. done. I'll check to see where the ground wire goes once I have it back.

Inspecting the new to me Gen 3 Montero I found this loose connector under the hood. Can someone tell me what it is for, if it should be connected and if so where? I didn't see any other connectors nearby to attach it to. Thanks in advance guys!
