Writing this in the hopes that I can keep some momentum going this winter to keep adding to this truck. This will be a good log of the build and hopefully keep the motivation up to get out in the freezing cold and do some work! And hey, maybe you guys get a kick out of it!
I've always been a fan of Toyota (can't say I don't catch the Jeep every once in a while). It stems from living in SA as a kid and bouncing down jungle roads in Hilux's with stock snorkels. Those trucks just get beat on day in and day out and don't complain.
I had a 89 extended cab that's a story for another thread. Needless to say I loved it and drove the wheels off it through high school and 8 years of college (lots of people go to college for 8 years). Anyway all those years of being poor and not being able to afford things like regular maintenance + 280k hard miles led to the violent demise of that V6. RIP old red.

That led to me a 89 4Runner with even more miles but a fresh 22re. That thing was sweet but I quickly discovered that whoever did the swap did a horrible job as far as the wiring goes. Basically chopped the harness of the old (in many odd and hard to reach places) and wire-nutted the new in. Drove it for a year then sold it for more than I paid (Colorado price)!

Oh yeah I picked up a 85 Westy, but you guys don't wanna hear about that hippy BS.....lol!

Which brings me to my current rig: 02 double cab TRD, purchased with 130,000 miles two years ago. Now she has 200k and I've done some things, but the real stuff I want to do this winter. So here we go!
Pic when I picked it. Its a Colorado truck, sold new in Grand Junction, I'm second owner. 130,000 miles.

I've done a couple things: 5100's, OME dakars and 33x12.5 A/T's the most notable.

Anyways, that's about it. Hope to have some news (new goodies) or a trip report up here soon, cheers!
