I need to organize my bed when off roading and camping and I am considering a narrow, low profile tool box. I need to stow/secure my winch gear (straps, block etc.) air compressor, tools, camp stuff, hi-lift, etc.

I havent seen alot of tool boxes on 05-06 Tacoma's so...
I'd like to see what you guys have or prefer and why, so please post up those pics! Also, please include info such as brand, model, part#, price, etc,

On my last Taco (a 95.5), I had plywood down and built a box along the driver's side that ran from the tailgate to the front of the bed but only stuck out as far as the fenderwell. I kept my junk in there- stuff I wasn't as likely to use went in the front (extra belts, filters, etc) tools, frisbees, etc were near the back. I put a fused 12 volt outlet in it too so I could use my 12v flourescent light or recharge my cellphone at night and stillhave it near.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the 2005 yet? I've got plywood down with carpet over it (not glued down yet) and have slept back there, but I'd like to do something more. I've been thinking about having a metal box fabricated that went along one side- I really want more secure storage.

I just got back from a trip to Tahoe that made me really appreciate having a shell over the bed of my truck. I wouldn't want my nice hi-lift and whatever I had strapped to the basket to get filthy from trail dust - it's abrasive and makes life a bit less pleasant. I use a couple Rubbermaid boxes in the bed to keep stuff organized. Simple, cheap and works for me.
