Out with the SAW's, and in with the new KING remote resi's!! :chowtime:

Warn M8000 winch installed:

About 10 minutes after UPS dropped it off I had the steel cable off already:

I didn't have anyone to help me. At first I thought it would be near impossible because you have to hold the winch on it's side (the bottom of the winch mounts facing forward) while also holding the nut on the inside; all while trying to tighten the bolt.
But that was nothing a strap and a clove hitch couldn't solve:

Rear shocks changed to King remote resi's:
I was in a hurry to get it finished so I forgot to take pictures before the tires went on. The lower mount on the shock wouldn't fit onto the lower shock mount stud so I had to bore out the center a bit to make it larger.

I always liked the Shrockrocks bumper but there always seemed to be more horror stories about extended wait times than not. I think it's a good compromise between the ARB and Allpro's.

I was looking at the Amsteel line awhile back but at the time couldn't find any information about how it held up to abrasions. I cut firewood from a sloped lot and want to use it to pull logs up it rather than my current methods of humping heavyass chain or dicing the logs up on spot and walking back and forth. I assume it has to be sleeved wherever it's likely to contact rough surfaces?

Why the new suspension? How much use did you get out of the first setup?

Thanks. I had to wait about 2 months for the SW bumper. The way I looked at it was that I could get something like the ARB and have it in about a week, or wait for a SW bumper which is much nicer on many levels. In 6 months, it wouldn't matter which one I waited for, and I knew I would regret not waiting for the SW bumper over the ARB. The ARB's just don't fit the contours of the trucks they are designed for.

For winching, would it be dragging on the ground? What type of surface is it?

I changed the front because the Sway-A-Way's didn't hold up too well when I added the bumper, and that was before I had the winch, skid plate, or dual battery (downstairs not yet installed). I had already put a decent amount of money into the SAW's trying to get them to be comfortable, so I decided I might as well put the money towards a new setup instead of changing the springs on the SAW's.

The rear just followed suit. No point in having resi's in front and monotubes in back.

For winching, would it be dragging on the ground? What type of surface is it?

Yeah, attached to a choker chain and pretty much running along the ground, perhaps across other trees and these aren't the smooth skin eucalyptus of SoCal.
In that I couldn't find anything about their susceptibility to abrasions it meant they had nothing good to mention about it.
