09 Tacoma Budget Build Options (For Mild Expo trips)

I've been running a set of the Treadwright's for almost 10k miles now and I have no complaints. I read a ton of stuff online, the good and the bad, and decided to go for it. If they continue to hold up like they have I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set or to recommend them. I'm running the 245/75R16 WARDEN A/T (E).
How does it ride with E range tires?

The ride is a bit stiff to be honest. I went from the stock street type tires my Tacoma came with to these so it was a noticeable ride difference. After about a week I was used to it, kinda reminded me of my old Jeep. On wet pavement they give me plenty of grip and I would really have to try to get them to lose traction. Off road in dirt, sand and mud they do equally as well.

keep in eye on tw for a tsb leaf pack in the for sale section. I've got the tsb and aal. 5 leafs total. Its nice to put a load in the bed and not be nose high. But i'm sure an aal on a 3 leaf will make a difference as well.

Up front I have 5100 with eibach springs. Love em.

I've been running hankook dynapros 265/75 p for 20k miles. No complaints. And I think I paid $115/tire.

For what you are doing some good tires should be all you need. If you want a budget lift you can either go with 5100 and aal or yo can do the budget OME + aal. Here is a setup that is in your range, but dosent leave much more for tires.

I think with my 4cyl I will be getting this with the 884 front because i dont plan on getting a front bumper.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the link, didnt know OME had a budget lift. Whats the total lift height? Is there any other parts to factor into this lift? From what I see it just has different front shocks, and an add a leaf, not a full pack. correct?

Correct. This is not full OME, but OME front with toytech add a leaf. The front is the OME struts, OME springs of your choice, you have to use your stock tophat(you usually do anyway). The rear is OME shock with an add a leaf, which is not nearly as good as a Dakar Pack but will more properly( than other aal's or blocks) get you load carrying capacity(no change with blocks) and height. I would not recommend lift blocks. The rear aal will not last as long as a good full pack but I have had good luck with full length aal's in the past. If this is still a little too much, the 5100's will get you the front lift you are looking for, I just think the OME is much higher quality and lifts the truck more properly(whatever a proper lift is).

I dont know what the front lift height will end up but would suggest contacting ARB USA to ask thier advise. They suggested 884 springs for my 4cyl and no bumper.

You shouldn't need UCAs as long as you don't lift to much. I ran 885s on a V6 truck with no alignment issues.

Any suggestions on a light weight rear bumper, with a receiver for a hitch? Or is a rear bumper a waste of money when I can just buy a hitch and add it. I ask because my rear bumper is a little bent, and one tow point would be nice. You never know when it could be needed.

Would the Adj. 5100s and an 1.5 inch wheelers add a leaf be a decent set up? What would the front shocks need to be set at to level everything out? Anyone have any ride experience with these shocks set at a lower height? Im also looking for quality of the ride too. (Pretty needy for a cheap budget lol)

The best place I have found to anweer these questions is: tacomaworld.com

They are always debating all the suspension options but you should find someone running just about every suspension combo available.

Im sure there are people with experinence on here as well but there are a lot of people of there dedicated to your platform.

All suspension systems are a compromise of ride, longevity, $$$, ect...so do your research and you will find something you hopefully will be happy with.
