Hi all,

looking for what the title says. I found a couple online, but wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation for a particular light. Not looking to spend more than a hundred on this. I want it to put on my truck to help set up camp at night.

Thanks!

I have one that I bought at Brookstone about 20 years ago, that still works great. Unfortunately, pretty sure they don't sell it anymore. It is a PAR36 tractor light w/ magnetic base and cigarette plug. I did a quick google, and people still make these... try searching for PAR36 tractor light magnetic base, one I found was peterson 55w, about $35.

LED's are nice, but if you're looking for a work light, maybe the most important thing is that it's convenient and easy to use, and has a wide beam. Tractor lights are close-medium range work lights, and a heavy magnetic base means you can set it on the ground also, to let you see to work on the car, change a tire, etc. Handy to have....having a long cord is good, too. In theory, LED's are more reliable. In reality, poor construction and overdriven components means not all of them are. Sealed beam utility lights are pretty rugged.

I'll Xs this Utilitec dual power LED light. I use it with my 12v jump pack to keep it portable.

also I've found this LED clamp on light at LOWES that is powered by a ~12vbrick, so I fit a cig plug to the cord.
sturdy wide mouth clamp for tables or roof racks/fenders and a nice even light with a flexible gooseneck for ~20$ with a long power cord.

Well under your budget. Just track down an old magnet. These things are incredible for the money. The cool part is they work off of 110 or 12v. I have one and will be adding a few more soon.

I have a Solar boost/jumpm pack mid range from schlepboys about $150
it'll run an LED light all weekend.. but run time is a factor of consumption vs capacity

I like the clamp on light for interior lighting and works great calmped tot he roof rack/awning/picnic table

I have used the Sho-me Spotlight that can be set on steady burn or flashing mode (90 fpm) for a number of years. I use the snap-on amber lens at an accident scene as a warning device or when I am stopped by the road side for repairs.

The light comes standard with a 12' straight cord or 12' coiled cord with a cigarette lighter plug. I use the straight cord with the stationary base.

Available with either a stationary or swivel magnetic base with a 90 lb. pull magnet. Swivel base might best meet your needs.

Google: Sho-me Portable Spotlight
Manufacturer: Able 2 Products Company

You can find it much cheaper than the MSRP listed on the website.
