125,000 service?

My Discovery is about to hit 125,000 miles. Since I bought the rover last November I have been doing maintenance that I thought needed to be done.
New breaks, wheel bearing, O2 all 4, belt, hoses, spark plugs, and wires, and a new fan clutch. I’m going to pull the radiator and have it boiled and presser tested. What Should I be looking to do in the next month or so to stay on top of the service? The Rover is running great I just want to stay on top of stuff!!!

Thanks

Biggs

Cool are there any high output units out there? Or any cross reference GM parts that will work.

A friend of mine converted his RRC to use a standard Delco (GM) alt. He had to add the tach wire but from what he said it was straight forward.

Serpentine belt tensioner(s) would be another one to change out about 100K± - when the bearings seize up you're suddenly in bad shape.

Since you say you're doing the hub bearings I'm assuming it's a D1.
  • Hub bearings can be sourced locally, use Timken SET37, SKF BR37, ****** KIT38 or National A-37. They are about $15 each, so you can replace or inspect and repack, your choice.
  • Switch to the RTC3511 hub seal, it's a better double lip seal than the stock Disco hub seal.
  • I'd go ahead and fit new u-joints, it's highly doubtful yours have been serviced properly
  • Some people rave about Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. I'm happy with whatever is cheapest and just service them. Lately I've been using Auto-lites bought on sale for something like 75 cents each (I think the last ones I got were 50 cents each after a rebate).
  • Magnecore are popular wire. I've used them. Last year I switched back to Kingsborne which I like just as well for 1/2 the price.
  • Check that all your drive train vent lines are clear
  • Everything else that slips my mind at the moment ;)
120,000 miles it a major service so everything below as applicable. If two things contradict, do the most aggressive, like "change transfer case oil" & "top up transfer case oil", change it.

I wouldn't renew the cats unless it's needed.

I was going to mention that one. Tensioner is pretty important.

Mean Green stuff is awesome. I have one of their gear reduction starters and its pretty stout (hard to describe how one starter is better than another).
