Awesome little camper! In 2008 I rented a 23' for a 16 day road trip in Oregon. Nice on the open road, bit of a bear negotiating Portland traffic and parking. Learned real quick about public transportation. Way more than my lady friend and I needed, yours looks perfect for our fishing trips! Mind if I ask what you had to give for it? Thanks.

Blah at a 4x4 conversion. Get a rear locker and call it a day. Not only will the4x4 conversion cost you close to what you paid for the RV, but the chassis flex going off road will destroy the interior and cause everything to rattle.
Gotta love personal opinion, mine is a locker wouldn't have cut it in my little 4x4 C, I've already used 4wd to get in and out of a number of remote camp sites and not to mention some bad hwy conditions. More than the 4wd, the ground clearance the conversion gives you is what I use most.
Whether yours will rattle apart is a general statement as there are many different brands and build qualities out there. No one putting 4x4 under a C is planning to rock crawl with it, there are many out there and they make great exploring rigs whether it's forestry roads or hitting the beach.
Great rig you have. I've seen a lot of those running around and have been waiting for someone to tackle one.
Best of luck

I agree that this isn't a good candidate for off-roading. 4x4 would however be nice for snowy mountain passes, slippery boat ramps, sandy or muddy camp spot turnouts etc.
You've got the right idea right there!

I was driving by the local rv place yesterday and they had probably 100 of these lined up waiting for touris season to start.
I would love to convert one to 4wd, mostly for the low range for towing a small rock crawler. I think if you took it easy on dirt roads they would hold up fine.
I almost bought a 26 foot xrental last year till they showed me the service records or lack of service.

Cruise America has 31 of them for sale on their website this morning. 2010 and 2011 model years with what appears to me to be pretty good pricing.

Exactly. Nobody is running a trail with these, the 4wd is mainly used for beach use, boat ramps, etc. Heck, it can be used on grass too! I've been stuck on wet grass even with a rear locker.

The rear axle track width is 2" wider than the front. Is that typical for all E350's or is a cutaway different?
