I was referred to this forum by a member over on TTORA. Maybe there would be some interest here. I'm actually glad he did. I already see alot of good info here!

1959 AirStream Overlander 24'. Just restored inside and out. I have all of the original dealer paperwork, receipt of sale, manuals from 1959 that was handed to the original owner and then to me (the second owner). EVERYTHING is new or restored. Original layout, appliances (Cometic gas fridge, stove, sinks and counter tops, fixtures, cabinetry). New upholstery (cushions, bedding, divider curtains), new steel wheels painted base/clear in Viper red, chrome moon caps, new wide whites, aluminum propane tanks, and everything polished.
Located in Rutherfordton NC.
Asking $23000obo.

I liked Doug Hackey's concept of an Airstream on a Fuso...

The one in the OP would look awesome on a truck. :D (Prolly not what the owner/restorer had in mind though...)

Looks like a good idea to me. Though I would probably recommend finding a "shell" and building it to suit, rather than tear into an original ;)
I like the idea though. Wouldn't mind trying that.

Factory spec was 3850 but they only list the dual axle. The rarity of this one is that it was one of only a few single axle Overlanders to ever come out. Most were dual axle. I have not had it weighed, but I'm sure it is still close since I rebuilt it with the same layout, and flooring.
