1969 Series II...so tempting

Either the guy doesn't know or considering the key words he is expecting WAY too much money.

63K original miles? I'd be surprised. The truck's interior is completely stripped out and non standard seats have been added. You just can not tell much from those pictures. Condition is everything. The engine, rest of the drive train, frame, bulkhead. There is too much unknown for a real estimate.

If it is in decent shape? what $7K? Figure at least $1K to put an interior back in.

Series prices have generally gone down since LRUSA stopped selling Defenders.

Get hold of someone in the AZLR club and have them check it out for you. Most of the members are in that area.

Yeah, if I wasn't about to leave for a bit, i would be a bit tempted to investigate more. I do find the keywords, lack of a bit more detail in the post, and the mileage (as a daily driver) suspect. Who knows, could be just looking to get rid of it.

I think 7-8k sounds about right-if the condition supports it. The seats appear to fit and look pretty nice but as TeriAnn mentioned they are not stock. I'm trying to figure out what they came from?? My IIa (and this is also a IIa) had bucket seats from a 68 Firebird bolted to the box. They did not fit at all but where in great shape so I was able to sell them to a Firebird restorer and fund buying the exmoor copies of the deluxe Land Rover seats I have now. I haven't bothered with the door trim yet. The mileage could very well be an indication that the ODO is broken. Check it over thoroughly -especially the frame and bulkhead as that is your biggest rust areas. Good luck!

Those look like NADA deluxe seats that have been reupholstered. Same for the dash pad. Wheels look to be the original that have been galvanized.

+1 to cabell's comment. The interior is a minor correction in the scheme of things. It may have never had door cards or headliner since it is a standard 88.

Pluses:

-Looks unmolested/well cared for. No stupid mods.
-Has a winch.
-If it's always been an AZ truck it should have no rust issues.
-Late IIA more desirable than a SIII aesthetically (and some would argue qualitatively)
-Claimed to be a DD so assessing the mechanicals should be uncomplicated.

Minuses:

-Poster appears to be fishing, so may have an inflated idea of value
-No overdrive
-No heater (supporting that it is an OG AZ or at least Southwestern truck)
-Standard models are not as desirable as a full station wagon and IMO not worth as much.

I say knowing what we know $7500 would be a fair offer. If he can show a stack of records, substantiate the claimed mileage, and it is rust free and turn-key, best price would be $9500. Bottom line though is that the market value is what one person is willing to pay.

I have a 1968 series IIa for sale also. This is an old Royal Navy vehicle.

Please refer to my blog below and click on December for pictures and description.

Thanks,

Not to hijack... but is that truck really worth approx $6500+? The reason I ask is I have been trying to determine what my 67 2a 109, 2 door, diesel is worth. I know that it is a loaded question with several variables but could someone give me a low ball estimate? No Rust and it runs fine...
