Nicely done. I like it a lot. Especially the back doors.

x100, please leave the rear doors as is...you could just clear coat it to protect the metal...

gives it a TON of character!!

great build

Yup, back doors are staying as-is....the old adverts are kinda cool...I'm even thinking a custom mural under the left hand side....

Louis,

From my research, importing would run about $3-5K all said and done, not including shipping to the port of departure and from the port of entry (just the boat/container trip). Figure in the cost of purchase and you'd likely be in the $7 to $15K range, plus your time and miscellaneous expenses.

Next week should be a big one for the Troopy.

Jgolden has a Lowrance Baja 480C on its way to me, and Hamcity has some 2M/70cm radio stuff coming....all should be in on Tuesday/Wednesday!

I just received an ARB 75L Flexi Tank from CanuckMariner....so the rear cargo floor is just around the corner too!!

The OZTent RV-5 with goodies should be on order here pretty quickly...and on for some family camping!!!

I don't know how I've missed this thread but I just read through the entire thing! Great truck you have there, I'm glad you are a "local" living in the same state at least. Hopefully I can see this thing in person some day!

I'll do a write up of how/where I sourced it once the title company is done with the registration, etc., and let everyone know how I procured it....for better or worse....

I didn't do the importing myself; however.

I've been through all 33 pages. Looks like you got a winner of a truck. Can you please update us on how you procured it. Thanks.

Okay, since I don't have pics yet, I'll begin an explaination, then follow up with some pics.

1. I installed the Bestop seats in December or January. During the Mexico trip, both started to separate at the seat cushion seams. Not too much of an issue, but then the side bolster cushion on the driver's seat separated, causing the metal frame to dig into my thigh...and ********, every time I enter or exit the seat. Not comfortable at all, and downright painful at times.

2. Since the EW JK is getting an Earthroamer conversion, I was fortunate to end up with the rear seat, seatbelts, soundbar and subwoofer from that project, as they had to be removed for the conversion. The seat is a 80/20 split bench; about 50" wide, and, which is really nice, a built in "latch" feature for my little one's carseat. The seat is grey.

So, I will likely go back to the stock seats up front (I need to find a USDS one...) and the JK seat in the rear.

I may cannibalize the Bestop seats for the heating elements and put 'em in the stock seats when I re-cover them...Quien Sabe....

Always a project in the future!

So, how long did the Bestop seats last? Doesn't seem like very long at all? Did they offer to warranty them?
