Well my clutch dilemma has gotten interesting. Marks4wd say I bought the MCK605HD clutch assembly. My purchase log says I intended to buy the MCK110 clutch assembly. I didn't look closely at their order confirmation sheet after ordering. Did I click the wrong button or did they mess up? No way to prove it either way other than that I had numerous emails back and forth with them prior to purchase describing my project and confirming fit. They say the MCK605HD is not compatible with the rest of the LS conversion kit I purchased. Obviously. They offered to change it for the correct part but I would have to pay the nearly $600 shipping to and from Australia. So I am thinking that I will just replace the clutch disc with a compatible clutch disc. I found a centerforce 384024 12" 10 spline (1.125"dia) disc for $138 that we are going to try. Marks4wd indicated I'd probably be best off sorting this out here but have been vague as to what I could do here to make this work. The housing and pressure plates match up to the fly wheel but they have said,
"The MCK605HD is a custom made clutch. The cover is machined deeper to suit the custom made disc that is made to give a standard clutch more clamp load.
Therefore you would not be able to purchase a clutch plate off the shelf that would suit.
Again the MCK110 clutch is a custom made clutch to suit our conversion.
But we have designed it to replicate a Chevy truck 10 spline / 12-inch clutch."
So we will see. May have to cough up the $600 and lose 5 or 6 weeks of build time in the end.
You would think they would have realized what with all our prepurchase discussions that they were shipping an incompatible clutch.
