I have this same truck and have been building it out all year. If anyone is interested, here is some info (provided it’s still stock)
6.2l non turbo diesel
Th400 transmission no OD
NP 205 transfer case
4.56 gears, Dana 60 kingpin front and 14b ff rear with Detroit locker
It’s very slow in the acceptable rpm range. Fantastic trail vehicle. I put a 4” lift and 37’s on mine as a way to reduce rpm and increase ground clearance. This makes it acceptable on the freeway at 55-60. 65 and up the mileage goes waaaaayyyyyy down. A lot, and quick. 55 I’m at something like 18mpg. At 65, 10mpg or below. Surely some of that is the lift aerodynamics and the weight of the big tires, but I think rpm is the main culprit.
They often come with a generator, air compressor and occasionally a welder. I removed all of this to make room for a bed and cargo. Having the compartments on the outside is awesome for camping.
