1988 suburban visor- you opinion

I got a Lund fiberglass visor for the windshield (non-lighted) and ive always like the look of them on box bodied chevys and fords.

i am just wondering if i should go ahead and make $$ off it or install it? they are frowned upon it seems by a lot of people just wodering if 12 holes is worth it?lol

i got some clear lens LED 5 peice cab roof lights im installing anyway so either itll be lights on factory location on roof w/o visor or install the visor with lights mounted to the visor? what would you do?

also anyone whos had one please give info such as MPG changes, noise, paint chipping from branches???ect ect

Never had one, but I have always liked the looks of them. I have talked with a couple people that have had them and the only thing they mentioned was a little bit of wind noise. I know, this doesn't help, sorry!

it helps, i am thinking after looking more that the liking how it looks will fade on me, thinkng about sellin it and just putting the lights on the cab

OK, since you asked....I had one on my truck in 1981..... styling wise....it's very 80's. They are no longer considered "stylish". In my opinion.

Sorry but I figured you'd want every opinion. Now...the 1 ton lights on the roof...I personally like those. I think they're cool.

I have a lighted one on my Burb. I bought it with it on and I also had one on my Bronco. I like it.

Ive never been a fan of them, but IMHO, to each his own. If you like it, put it on.

looks and some say it cuts sunglare, i guess it would help glare from offroad/driving light on the roof also. i just know ill break it so ive decided aginst it.

I had one on a 78 bronco. it did cut glare a little and I like they way it looked.

it did cost me around 1-1.5 mpg...and when your getting 10 that sucked.

out here they would get ripped off by sage brush. i just tinted the top section of glass to cut glare works great.

A friend of mine has one on his Excursion. He loves it. I don't. His rattles when he drives. Something about enlarged bolt holes.

I had one on my '88 burb when I bought it and immediately removed it. I wanted as much 'upward' visibility as possible, and it did affect it a little bit (plus I was worried about getting caught in tree branch and getting yanked off). Now, I wouldn't get one because I think that style is a little too outdated, but I do like the marker lights!

I personally am not a fan of the look, wind noise, extra holes in roof and limiting your visibility would kill it imo.

I have stock marker lights on the roof and a very dark strip of tint across windshield

Another lonely vote "For"

I've been thinking about getting one for my '90 Suburban - like the look and will decide if it's needed after I get lights on top. To keep limbs from ripping off the visor, you could add limb-lifters - stainless cable mounted between a rack on top and a grill/brush guard.
