1988 Suburban

It seems like I have tried every vehicle in the book. Looking for the perfect ride to fit my needs. Powerwagon, 2wd suburban, Avalanche, k30, Blazer, etc....I think I have finally found the do all vehicle for what I want. I have a family of 6. We pull a 20ft river boat, do some camping, and spend some time out at the farm. So far our vehicle has limited our adventure capabilities. Hopefully the Burb will get us where we need to go and have some fun when we get there.

I found it on Facebook Marketplace a month ago. It was very basic, which is what I was looking for. Vinyl seats, rubber floors and crank windows. Definitely needs some updating but thats the fun part. I will add to the thread as I go. But first, here's a starter pic of when I brought her home.

Drove about 80 miles home

Threw the 37s on it when I got home. She is too much of a dog to turn them over comfortably with the 3.42s

Welcome to the site Snacob and thanks for posting pics of that fine `Burb´ you will find lots of friendly people here that can answer most of your questions. Our resident GM guru, Larry has an old school suburban like yours. He can help you with most any modifications. I hope this helps. Cheers, Chilli...:)

Slapped some new 35" BFG KO's and it has made a nice difference. I can run it down the highway in OD at 75 with no issue. The gears are not ideal, but I think, ironically, they will work good for what I want to do for now. OD is usable unloaded. 3rd works good for towing as I'm sitting at about 2400 rpms at 70. took the dash apart and am cleaning the mouse evidence from everywhere. Next will be a headliner replacement and fixing the broken bracket that controls the defrost/heat.
