Talk to Justin at R&D IDI Performance....he makes the best turbo setup in my opinion...and see my note above about his up pipes...EVERYTHING about working on a vans engine is painful
OKAY been running this setup for about 718 years now. Just to go over basics
1. Engine is about 4 years old...R&D IDI see other writeup on that
2. ZF5 - S42
3. BW 1356 Transfer Case
4. US GEAR over drive behind transfer case ( NOTE: You must have it in DIRECT when shifting into 4x4 or front will be 4:10 and rear about 3:30 not good on front end...Trust me...2 years ago I forgot and screwed up front spindle and bearing on right side-going to put a metal piece on transfer case shifter to hit Overdrive shifter handle so YOU HAVE to put it in DIRECT. My US gear overdrive is modified so I shift with a lever)
NOW for the last part and why I'm updating this....pickups 80's-90's and now also VANS with manual transmissions. REINFORCE FLOOR WHERE MASTER CYLINDER COMES THRU-WITH REPEATED USE FLOOR WILL CRACK AND YOU WILL NOT GET FULL TRAVEL WHEN PUSHING IN CLUTCH..RECOMMEND STEEL PLATE TO REINFORCE FLOOR AROUND HOLE WHERE MASTER CYLINDER COMES THRU FLOOR AND ALSO ON WALL BEHIND IT TO FLOOR REINFORCED PLATE....I ATTACHED INTO BOLTS FOR STEERING COLUMN
That is SO awesome
Best van out there for dependability. I have a few here. Best dependability is IDI . I have not sistered a ZF to one YET. Also have numerous "spares" here. This IDI is my daily driver/tool wagon/loaner for my kids on their adventures. My wife and I have a 2003 E350 Quigley cutaway.
