Hey Spur, love the build. I've recently started a similar build with my 87 suburban 4x4. I should have a very similar setup. I know that you went through some hassle to get your leaf springs. I was hoping you could pass on your final weights so that I could get an estimate from alcan on some custom springs.
Do you have any updates that can make us drool:drool: Spur?:ylsmoke:
Just for info, not for correction purposes, to inform everyone cuz it too me a while to figure this one out..
CUCV blazers (m1009) came with 10 bolts with 3.08 gears a gov loc in the rear and are considered a 3/4 ton truck.
The CUCV truck (m1008) has the d-60 and is considered a 5/4 ton truck, came with 4.56 gears and a detroit in the rear 14 bolt. B E E F !!
This is culled from earlier in the thread, sorry for the re-hash. I am slowly digesting this build write up as I am starting one of my own in Virginia.
I am looking for a solution to long term axle/drivetrain durability, so this is important to me currently.
This is good info. I verified this via wikipedia (assuming the info there is credible).

This seems like a good donor for axles and Hydro boost. Thanks for the upgrade.
