Well you need to be aware of your local registration requirements - California and a few other states it might be difficult to pass emissions even if it is legal inside USA borders.

Also you may have a headache getting insurance - many insurance companies have zero imagination or motivation to write a policy on a vehicle that is not easily looked up in their tables.
