As the sun set the jackets came out and our camp stove was the source of warmth, burn ban season.

The light bar works great, extremely bright and it's aimed towards the ground, straight out and it would have probably reached the off road course!

Not a bad view as you first wake up!

Went to REI a couple of days ago for the big storewide sale to look at some camping gear and ended up coming back with a Yakima Loadwarrior rack, definitely happy with the price!

Very happy with the rack, it's extremely light weight which is what I was looking for. Yakima sells an 18in basket extension that I will get eventually to lengthen it towards the back of the truck. It's also a narrower rack compared to the more popular land cruiser racks but it doesn't bother me, I bought the medium sized bars that extend passed the basket so I have a place to mount things, next I'm looking at getting a Hi-lift, Shovels, Axe, and some other items to mount on the bars next to the basket. Thanks for reading!

not to hijack your tread but how did the Raptor do? what did they sleep inside?

It did great! Nice and smooth over the dirt trail we had to take. They both slept inside it, my mom slept in the back floor with the seat folded up and my dad slept in the passenger seat with it tilted all the way back, he says he doesn't recommend sleeping inside it in the front seats but the back floor has a lot of space and was decently comfortable.

Great thread, I'm really enjoying your build!

Could you talk more about the route you took to the expo? We drove up on 87/lake mary rd and it would have been nice to get off the pavement, did you find the trail in a guide book or just by exploring?

I really like the light bar and the location it looks good and is low profile, is there a particular reason you have it pointed so low? Does it give you better light on the trail? I don't know anybody with one and am curious.

Thanks!
We took the I-17 north until we found the exit for Stone man Lake, then we followed that road and it eventually dead ends and turns to dirt, we made a left on the dirt road and stayed on it for about 12 miles, then it dumped us onto a paved highway which I believe is highway 87, we followed that highway and made a left on Lake Mary Road towards mormon lake and it lead us straight there.

I have the light bar pointed a little lower cause the backside of it is curved and I figured it would push a little more air through the grill where the light blocks the opening, plus it illuminates the area directly in front of the truck on the ground really good, its easy to adjust I haven't had a chance to use it at night on a trail yet so i'll get some pictures of the differences and see which works better. About to spend a few days camping at Lake Powell so it should come in handy!

I think that entire area will be a good place to explore during the hot summer, so have you noticed your rig running hotter since you installed the light bar or is it just the warm weather or is it just a '80' thing?

I'm looking forward to you 'real world' review of the light bar, have a great time on your trip!

Haven't had any differences in temperature, temp gauge sits right in the middle during the summer, I daily drive it in the 110 degree heat! In the winter it sits a little on the cool side which I can't complain about.
Should have some pics up soon, heading out tomorrow morning. Thanks!
