Shot I took yesterday of the new gasket installed. The coverage and general look of the installed gasket confirms to me that the previous gaskets were completely wrong. I'm actually very glad to now have gone through all this mess as I believe now the motor is really in it's good place now. :)

My task for the weekend will hopefully yield time and good weather that I can go through and give the whole thing and inside, outside, engine bay cleaning and detailing! :D

Time to put this stuff to some good use.

haha. Yeah, I will sometime soon hopefully.

Until then.. I went the opposite and THOROUGHLY went through the thing and cleaned it all up. :) Still need to put wax on the thing to really brighten it up and protect it. But nonetheless.. it's cleaned up and ready for the future.

Looks pretty sick man!! Glad to hear it's running well now...for good!! I kinda miss the one we sold. I might be in the market for another one when tax season pays up!!

Thanks!
Yeah you should definitely get another one. As mad as I've been at this thing and wanting to sell it.. I'm glad I haven't. It's a fun rig.
Hoping 2014 will actually bring some utilization and trips for it.

Man your truck is nice. I would like to have something like this to dd. Your debacle with the head gaskets is like my issues with my freaking pan seal. It seems ridiculous but it can be really frustrating.

Thanks! Yeah serious.. Very frustrating. Hope you get your oil pan leak figured out soon.

I decided to install one of my early Christmas presents today for my little rig.. LED lights for the instrument cluster.

I had a few missing interior parts that used to bug me. Made me feel like the inside was so.. unfinished. Luckily, I wandered into a Pick A Part recently and scored them all! for $14.

Then to go along with my new gauge LED's, I decided to upgrade these old dome lights:

to these new ones! (what a waste of a large envelope)

But they look great!

Then we got into Christmas and all I wanted for Christmas was a facelift ... for my Tahoe.

And now that is complete. :D

And just for an easy comparison..

This is how it used to sit:

Edit - Oh I forgot to include.. these new headlights are WAY better than the stock cloudy faded ones I was driving with. The beam pattern is so much tighter, the visability is a lot better, and they look 10 times better in general. All in all, this was a GREAT upgrade to my Tahoe. Very stoked on it all.

New grill looks great! I am going back and reading what lights you got, mine need replacing.

Hey Chevy, you truck looks so much better with the new grill and lights. Can you post a link so others (like me) can get some cool:drool:stuff for our rigs? Also, how much did your new headlights cost you? Cheers, Chilli...:)

Thanks fellas!

As for the lights, I didn't want to spend a bunch of money, but I wanted to get some decent looking ones that weren't crappy quality.
I ended up buying this whole set from this place on eBay for $70.

The quality is good for the money spent (they aren't OEM quality, but good for the price). They shipped them very quickly and I was very happy with their customer support (they accidentally shipped the all black parking lights at first - but I contacted them and they immediately shipped me the black/chrome ones I wanted with a return label to ship the black ones back to them). :)

All in all, I'm happy with them.
