I know this is an old thread, but I just made it through all 61 pages of it, and I've learned a TON! I wish more of the pictures showed up for me, but even then I was able to get a pretty clear picture of what was happening. I just bought mine this past summer and can't wait to start really modifying it; this thread was invaluable. I do wish there were more places that I know of in North Texas that I could get off pavement (I live in Bedford down the road from Cowboy stadium).

Yeah, I've kept communications with the guy. Seems the kid needs a honda civic to drive to school in.

I still havent found a proper replacement for this truck. I'm likely picking up a 100 series cruiser in the next couple of weeks. I bought a Chevy work truck for the interim but have been missing out on adventures lately.... so a new adventure-mobile is on its way.

We did go to Big Bend in our Challenger though.

It was pretty well sorted when sold. I think the back window that won't go down is a loose connector it happened once before and I disconnected everything and got it back to working. Actually I think I jumpered the motor and got it to go up but its been a couple years.

How did the flat paint that you used stand up to the elements? Did you see any peeling, etc? Have to do any touching up? Which exact paint was it?

Thanks!

I used Semi Gloss Rustoleum forgot the actual name.

After painting I never did clear or even wax it. About a year into it, the paint began to oxidize in the Texas sun but I was able to polish it to resemble a sheen with just a dry microfiber cloth.
