Thank You
Just want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. The info you have taken the time to give has helped greatly.
I apologize for the delay in replying. I work at a college and the spring semester began and I am finally at a point to take some time and search around the site and forum.
As far as my search goes, I found an awesome black cherokee in dallas that sold in a day before I could get there. I looked extensively at a yellow Freedom in Oklahoma that was too rusty. There is a nice one in Austin that I wont have time to go see.
I am just going to have to either get lucky and find a selec-trac 4wd or bite the bullet and go with command trac that appears to be far more available and hope that 2wd works OK in a Texas rainstorm or sleet storm. (I dont plan on rock crawling any of my cars. Sleet, ice and hard rains are the worst conditions I will see apart for the occasional sugar sand situation around east texas.)
If I decide to go with only 4 hi and 4 lo I may just wait a few months, after our house remodel and go with a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4 door. Maybe it will tow better than the unibody Cherokee, have a bit more room and is newer. Im weighing my options.
Again, thank you for making the first thread I posted on the forum worth taking the time to post due to yalls helpful responses.
