300k miles. I am putting a roof rack on it. And custom built bumpers.

I own a MIG, TIG, and plasma cutter.

As far as axles go, I have my eye on a few smoking deals a few minutes from my job in New Orleans. And yes, I'll be visiting Chris, and nickel and dimeing him to death.

Chris from UJOR is sourcing me a T-case. But as far as the actual conversion goes, I am going to buy everything I need from him and then find my axles. I have a friend in NOLA who owns a 4x4 shop. So he can help me if I run into any problems.

My main home base is in NOLA. I have a room I rent in Asheville that I use just to sleep in when I'm up there riding my bikes in the mountains.

I have been calling around for prices for the drive line. You know, axles, t-case, transmission, etc...

Everything in New Orleans, I can't touch. It's higher than giraffe poon tang.

But I found a place in North Mississippi, $1000 for all of it. BAM!!!

Ready for a good van story? I have one for you!!

Wednesday, I wake up at 4 a.m., then call a cab. No cabs available because of some convention in town. After calling 10 different cab companies, I finally get one.

Fly out to Charlotte at 5:55 a.m., then they put me on a ghetto puddle jumper. Then fly to Lynchburg, Va.

When landing in Lynchburg, that winter storm was hitting it. WE LITERALLY LANDED AND SKIDDED TO A STOP SIDEWAYS!!!!!!

Then I get in a cab, hour drive to Roanoke.

I get there, do the paperwork, then roll out back to New Orleans.

I make it to Bristol, Tn., when the van just dies.

Called a tow truck, they bring it to the dealership. Guess what? Cam position sensor........

Back on the road at 7pm. Please visit Ford dealership in Bristol. They are great.

Then, stopped in Asheville for the night. Then spent the next night in Miss at my mom's house. Then today, finally back home.

Good to say that I pushed the hell out the van all the way back and no problems.

When I got to Miss, I unbolted the bulkhead to lean the seat back. Now, I unbolted the shelf, and I will dump it tomorrow.

The other shelf with the drawers, I am going to keep. just clean it up and paint it. It has all kinds of neat stuff.

To be continued...

hope the price was sweet for you to go through all that!

$3000.00 LOLOL

Does anyone know where I can buy a reman 4r100 4WD transmission? Or will any 4r100 4x4 transmission work? Or does it have to be for a 7.3?

I am in the collecting parts stage LOL.

Never mind. E-mail from Chris, says I should just rebuild my own transmission.

I would just drop it off at Ujoint and let Chris at Ujoint do his magic on it. I have found from others that at the end of the day
it does not cost much more to have the master (Chris) do the whole job in and out the door ready to be used without any
issues popping up down the road.

Money well spent especially considering the killer deal you got on the VAN.

Great score and looking forward to seeing the build pics
