1996 Expedition ready Landcruiser

It pains me to sell the cruiser but my family is in a new "chapter" of our lives and the cruiser isn't being utilized for its build intentions anymore. We have had many great vacations exploring and offroading and made some great friends over the years. But now it's time to put her up for sale. Luckily I'm in no hurry to sell it and will be patient with the process. I hope to find somone in the community who can appreciate the time, effort and tons of cash required over the years to get to this point. It was featured in 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine.

In November 2008 I spent $5k at TLC to have a lot of preventitive maintenance done. The plan was to keep this forever...plans changed. The following is all the maintenance completed in the last 12 months:
The work at TLC was $5428.06 and included the following:
remove and replaced upper and lower oil pans, oil and filter
remove and replace fuel filer and copper gaskets
remove and replace all belts
remove and replace rear rotors, e-brake shoes, clean and lube hardware
complete rewiring of auxiliary electrical
remove and replace trans cooler
Starter was replaced 2 weeks ago
6-28-08
replaced cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs

The truck has never run better...mechanically in great condition

Current stats:
1996 FZJ 80 moonglow
171,000 miles
factory lockers
Supercharged
Dual battery
aux AC fan
4:88 gears (have 4:11 original gears)
315 Nitto terra grapplers with 2500 miles on them and spare with no miles
Slee 4" lift
ARB front bumper modified with Warn 12k winch, synthetic rope and IPF HID lights
Kaymar rear bumper modified with protective hoops
metal tech sliders
Slee AC dryer and transfer case skid plates
Hanibal roof rack with IPF lights and awning
38 gallon long range tank with supra fuel pump
LED dome lights
African outback modified drawer system to incorporate 500 watt inverter, extreme aire on board air with 2 1/2 gallon tank, and power outlets
Milford cargo barrier
Pioneer head unit with IPOD connection and XM radio
DVD monitors for the kids
Cobra CB

The "bad":
dent in passenger side rear 1/4 panel
Hood and fender flares could use a paint job
Driver seat and passenger seat in fair condition. Middle row is in good shape and 3rd row is in storage.

I'm asking $18,750 or maybe a trade for a 2005+ dual cab Tacoma. Pictures can be viewed at:

David,

Do you still have this cruiser? If you still have it in July, I may be willing to fly out there and drive it home to the east coast. Let me know!

Well yes the Cruiser is still available and I'm more motivated to sell it. New Price is $18,750 for a fully loaded cruiser that is ready to go anywhere. If you know anyone in the community looking for a new rig please forward the info. I'm willing to reasonable offers.
cheers,
David...

What the heck? Smitty, you have a cruiser! :Wow1:

Yeah, but I actually might have some very good things happening in the near future. It could take 6 months, but it also could take 6 weeks. Needless to say, I might want to "treat' myself to a new cruiser. I would sell mine of course. I don't have any need for two 80s. Plus it would be a good reason to come back out west for a week or so...without having to deal with a rental car company :smiley_drive: Only time will tell.

good news...I didn't sell the cruiser and I bought a new 09 Tacoma double cab, TRD off road edition...silver (matches my hair and I don't have to change my screen name)

The cruiser is going into storage where it will appreciate in value like a good wine until I decide what to do with it.

The build plans for the Tacoma are being put together....

cheers,
David...

Hi, is your cruiser still for sale? A friend in HB looked your rig over while you looked at his, he said it was 'damn nice' and from the pic's and mods I'd say he's right.
Shoot me a PM or e-mail when you have time. I'll be in HB soon and would like to take a look at it myself.

Thanks, Mark

It's a bauer rack. The wheels can stick out up to 10" depending how you mount the bike on the rack. Sometimes I'll take the front wheel off. It has worked well.
