This has been a great truck. I never planned to sell it, that’s why you see so much that I replaced. Most of the parts that were replaced never failed. I am very detail oriented about this truck. Nothing was left to get so bad it had to be replaced. A lot of the modifications are for engine health, and/ or longevity mods. Nothing was done for performance goals, just longevity, and MPG. This truck gets 20MPG since it’s a diesel.
IF you are unfamiliar with the 2door diesels, they are very rare. Only 1% of the 2dr Tahoe’s came with a diesel. They are hard to find locally, and even nationally. They do not often come up for sale, especially as clean as this, with all the hard work already done. I bought it from a wealthy couple who used it as a ski vehicle. It was bought from Texas, and prior to that, it was in Florida, where it was purchased new in May of 1998 at Ed Morse Chevrolet. Its currently in Denver, CO where I live.
It has NO RUST and NO BLOWBY. (Tested it using the method on dieselplace.com It is VERY healthy. Engine is smooth, and has no strange noises. Transmission shifts flawless, and the turbo works well and you can here it whistle while driving. The exhaust is to keep EGT’s lower for when I drive to the mountains. The old exhaust was a bottleneck, and it had to go. It also increased the power without being to loud. (not much louder than stock). Passed emissions with this exhaust here in Colorado. I am the only one who has used the trailer hitch, and I only towed a 6ft trailer with one dirt bike on it. It has not been used as a tow vehicle at all!
Now, what is wrong with it you ask? Not much. The hydro booster that operates the brakes, and runs of the power steering unit, has a slight leak. (still works fine, just drips once in awhile). The roof has a few spots where the paint is starting to peel. The rest of the body, is in excellent shape with only minor scratches/scuffs/small dings. (very minor). The front two buckets seats have worn a bit, and have some sway like a rocking chair. Not to bad, just wanted to mention.
Will ship this vehicle at buyers expense. You can come pick it up as well and drive it home!
