1999 Jeep Wrangler Sahara - Exceptional Condition TJ

Summary: 1999 Wrangler Sahara, 103k, 4.0L straight six, automatic transmission, ice cold A/C, 4x4, hard top, immaculate inside and out, $12,950 OBO.

If you are shopping for a TJ generation Jeep Wrangler, you will be hard pressed to find one nicer than this. As you can see from the photos, this Jeep is incredibly clean inside and out as well as incredibly dry underneath. Please see my description below, and give me a email/PM if interested in more information. I have 67 high resolution DSLR photos available via email.

Exterior: very, very clean. Paint appears to be original and has a great shine, I can see no evidence of paintwork or accident repairs on the body. The fender flares have been painted to match which greatly updates the look of this Jeep. Great condition windshield with no large chips, no cracks. The hard top has been Rhino-Lined which gives it a tough and maintenance free finish, and the top windows are tinted. Water tight, it does not leak when washed. The accessory lights front and rear all work great, they were installed correctly with dedicated switches and relays and mounted to the body with custom brackets. Mirror relocation brackets move the mirrors to the A-pillar to insure legality when you drive without doors. The wheels are in good shape with minor clear coat pitting and oxidation, no curbing or scratches. Front and rear steel bumpers with recovery points are a nice and functional upgrade. 2" receiver hitch and trailer wiring in place for light towing. I had a few small dents removed, at this point the body is nearly perfect. No rust, period. Even the frame is nearly free of the light surface rust that you will frequently find even on new cars.

Interior: again, very clean. Carpet is in great shape with no tears or major stains, seats are comfortable and also stain and tear free. The stereo is an upgraded Pioneer CD unit with USB and Bluetooth and a hands-free mic mounted near the driver's sun visor, speakers are dash mounted as well as a rear sound bar. The wiring is in place for a rear subwoofer and amplifier in the trunk, so installing your own system would be easy. A/C will put most new cars to shame, it will absolutely freeze you out even on a very hot day. All gauges and accessories work correctly. Passenger side airbag defeat switch is great if you have kids that ride up front. Floor mats are rubber all-season in good condition.

Mechanical: just a great driving TJ. It tracks straight even at highway speeds, no vibration or pulling. Brakes are strong and smooth (front disc/rear drum), good pedal and no vibration. The bulletproof 4.0L six starts, idles, and accelerates smoothly, no engine lights. The transmission shifts smoothly, doesn't bang shifts, and quickly and smoothly downshifts. Tires are 31x10.5R15 Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 that appear to be nearly brand new. The suspension is lifted approximately 2.5" with coil spring spacers, shocks appear to be newer but I am uncertain of brand. In the last week I have completed an oil and filter change, replaced a burned out front bulb, replaced the automatic transmission fluid filter, pan gasket, selector shaft gasket, and throttle shaft gasket, changed the transmission fluid, changed the serpentine belt, and replaced the combination fuel pump/fuel filter/fuel level sensor located in the gas tank. The transmission work was to resolve a small fluid leak, unlike most TJs this one is now leak free.

Flaws: I believe in full disclosure, and accurately describing vehicles to the best of my ability. I am also incredibly picky when it comes to cars, many of these flaws are subtle. One of the Hella front driving lights has a lens crack but it does not leak. Hard top defroster and wiper are not connected. A few very light stains in the carpet floor areas. Small crack on the upper driver's door trim. Does not currently have rear floor mats. The front tires will slightly rub at full steering lock. A few small rock chips on the front end and fender flares. Steering wheel leather is worn and covered by a cover that fits great.

I personally love Jeeps, and I've looked and and driven quite a few of them. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer TJ. This Jeep needs nothing, hop in and drive it anywhere. Please contact me with any questions at mattjessupbba at gmail.com, or by PM. For out of town lookers, I have 67 high resolution DSLR photos available by email. Clean KS title, ready to sell.

$13k for a 15 year old Jeep TJ, you're going to be hard pressed to get that. Even if it is in nice shape...

Around here a beater 6-cylinder TJ is $10k. This one is super clean and needs nothing. There are actually TJs that are more expensive, so I think the price is quite reasonable. It's hard to find a clean and well sorted Wrangler for less.
