1st Gen Tundra TRD package?

What does this get you...no rear locker right? LSD? Skidplates?...or just the yellow shocks and a couple stickers on the bed...
Looking at some 05-06 Tundras to replace a Tacoma and wondering if I should hold out for a TRD package...
Thanks
Matt

You dont have to have a TRD to get the mechanical limited slip. I have an SR5 no TRD package with the LSD rear end.

Reviving an old thread here. Are there ac's out there with colored fender flares that are non trd? Looking at an 05 w/o the trd badge and owner swears it is not trd. The shocks are after market so I cant look there. Thoughts? Thanks

I think in 05 you could get color matched flares on a Limited but don't quote me on that

I have an 05 access cab that is not TRD with an LSD and 4.10 gears that came stock. Easy to see if the truck has an LSD by looking at the back of the rear diff to see if it has an LSD sticker on it.

I think they went to color matched flares on all the Tundra's for 05 & 06 (maybe 04 as well?).

It make sense now that he told me it came with tow package. Not really looking for that but so many nice 1g truck are still expensive but this one isn't too bad.

Great info thanks. Does that gear ratio affect mpgs? Thanks

It depends on if you plan to run larger than stock tires and what kind of driving you do. I live in CO so the lower gears are great because of the loss of power that happens at high elevation.

I think the 4.10s probably give me better mileage because the truck isn't gear hunting when climbing inclines and passes. If you live at low elevation and drive primarily interstate then 3.9s might net you better mpg.

I am pointing out the 4.10 gearing because I had heard only double cabs came with the lower gears. I was surprised to find out that my truck came with 4.10s (access cab).

Yep low elevation with mix driving but in the summers we'll head for the mountains and climb about 6000ft. I'm thinking this truck is identical to yours. So does lsd = 4.1 and if not, how did you know you had those gears? Thx again.

Actually, now that I am looking at this I might be wrong. For older Toyota's and Tacoma's the gear code is on the manufacturers door sticker on the drivers side. There is a by a letter, two digits, and another letter that translates to what the diff and gearing is. Mine says A03B which would translate to a A=7.5" ring gear (not true because I have a 8.4 in the rear), 03=4.10, B=4 pinion open (not true). Therefore, unless this is referring to the front differential then it is not correct because I have an 8.4 LSD in the rear. Hmmm.... I will have to jack up the back of the truck and give it a spin to see what I actually have.

Now I am curious what you other Tundra guys have for a code on your door? It is the A/TM:????/A750F.
